Eaglemoss Marvel Characters by nightrunner

We start off this week with a peek at a painting project which is a little bit different. This is a look at nightrunner's work on some Eaglemoss Marvel figures which come in at a whopping 70mm in scale. They have been painting them up and giving them a polish!

70mm Marvel #1 by nightrunner

One of the first miniatures which popped up was this one for Wolverine. He is certainly rather lean but I do like the miniature and I think that nightrunner has done a good job getting across the depth and detail for Wolverine's suit and his musculature. The weathering also hits the mark and I love the smashed window which has been slotted into the background!

There hasn't been a lot of additional work done on the project itself, but there is work starting up on Ben Grimm, The Thing.

70mm Marvel #2 by nightrunner

I have recently really been thinking about how awesome The Fantastic Four is going to be when it finally joins up with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Seeing Thing here is awesome and whilst he has been only half done here, you can see how much work has gone into this miniature. Who would have thought that I could get excited about a pair of blue pants?

Make sure to keep an eye on the rest of the project linked above as there will no doubt be more and more work done on this project over the next few weeks.

Age Of Plasma (40K SAGA) by elessar2590

Next up, we're looking at some work by elessar2590 which is, again, a little different. Spurred on by Warren saying that maybe SAGA could be used for loads of different games, they went off and decided to design battleboards for all of the factions in Warhammer 40,000.

Age Of Plasma #1 by elessar2590

All of the factions have now been finished, in some form or another, and a lot of the factions are now getting themselves more finalised battleboards as you can see here. This has taken an immense amount of time and I have to tip my cap because I think I would have given up about halfway through!

Age Of Plasma #2 by elessar2590

As I mentioned above, a lot of the work has been done for these factions to make sure that they have plenty of actions which make them feel "right" on the tabletop. It was fun reading through these and reading up on how different the Adepta Sororitas are compared to the likes of the Necrons.

Age Of Plasma #3 by elessar2590

As well as all of the sheets above, there are also plenty of sheets which are covered with details on how all of these activations work. As I mentioned above, this is an immense amount of work and I am very much looking forward to seeing how this all comes together when the battleboards are finished.

Maybe you could help out elessar2590 with their testing of these and break out a battleboard or two and play some games of Age Of Plasma on the tabletop?

Night Goblins by dynarod1164

The final project for this week comes from dynarod1164 who took me on a little trip down memory lane. It was neat to see the first bit of work on their project to paint up a range of bits and bobs. It started with these very well painted Night Goblins.

Goblins #1 by dynarod1164

Despite how "stock" these miniatures look, I do like them, and they formed a great portion of my wargaming life when I dived into Warhammer Fantasy Battles 8th Edition. It was cool seeing these miniatures come to life! I love the way the green has come together and how it works nicely alongside that inky black.

Goblins #2 by dynarod1164

The little details make these models pop. In this case, it's their little crooked teeth, their beady red eyes and those shields which have been painted with a poppy yellow. It all comes together to create the look of a fiendish unit of backstabbers!

Goblins #3 by dynarod1164

As I say, it's just a little peek into a wider project but it's fun to see someone diving in and painting up a bunch of older Warhammer miniatures. I will always have a soft spot for these grobi (who would have thought it!) and I do enjoy seeing people paint up big regiments of Old World models!
