Blacksmith Miniatures Set a Date for Clio and Erato’s Pistol Practice
September 9, 2014 by dracs
Blacksmith Miniatures have announced that later this month they will be releasing a very limited edition sculpt of Clio and Erato, two beautiful women working on their aim.
This sculpt shows off a nice, cinematic scene, which could easily form part of a diorama, or just serve as an excellent painting subject. The model itself appears to be limited to only 150 copies, meaning you'll probably need to be fast if you want this pair.
It would be better if we could get a better look at the miniature itself, but given the quality of Blacksmith's other miniatures, it's safe to say this should be a fairly impressive collector's piece.
Do you think limited edition sculpts are a good idea for companies?
150 people are going to be very happy
Blacksmith’s sculpts are pretty fine imho
The Lullin Elf remains a favourite
Honestly, I don’t like limited adtion sculpts and exclusives. But I think it works for companies as they all try it.
I agree on the whole.
There can be very real reasons why a run is limited.
Blacksmith may well be a very small studio and production runs limited due to the quality of the moulds.
TBH I don’t know what sort of technology they have available. But any studio is not going to pay up to tens of thousands of pounds to sell a few models. So I doubt very much if they are limiting the edition from some ulterior motive.

I have no use for this but it looks very nice and a far cry from their previous fantasy styled sculpts.
Yeah I’d buy one if I had the spare coin, just don’t know what I’d do with it or when I’d get round to painting it…
I’m generally not a fan of limited editions. Too often, they’re simply there to entice you to shell out a ton of money for a limited starterbox or (even worse) a Kickstarter project. Of course, sometimes it might be necessary due to the small size of the studio, but still… Small runs, I can understand. But limited editions? Why? Take Kingdom Death, for example. They could have sold a lot of their original pin-ups, had they not been limited editions. But they’re long gone now. And all that’s left is the annoyance of those customers who didn’t have a chance… Read more »
