If you would have to choose one manufacturer of minis for the rest of your life: who would it be? (For the sake of argument it will be guaranteed that the manufacturer will stay on the market as long as you live/play/paint) – Artisan Guild, I think, even though I’ve not “bought” minis from them (i.e. supported their patreon) for a few months. I’m not really into what they are producing at the moment – but the stuff they come up with is absolutely superb. Yes, I’m calling them a “manufacturer of minis”. Digital minis. We don’t discriminate between lead, resin and plastic minis; I’m not discriminating against digital ones!

Forums: dead, useless or are people just way to impatient to wait for answers and prefer the quick “instant” responses of Facepage, Instagerm and discord? Sadly, dying out. I love forums. They managed to survive the assault of social media and are a superb means of sharing information *and keeping it indexed for years to come*.

Even this little thread is showing signs of fatigue – it would regularly reach 4/5/6 pages long and now if it hits three, it’s been a busy week – the whole OTT forums section appears to have gone quiet since @warzan enthusiastically announced launching the Discord channel. Maybe that’s where all the cool kids are hanging out. But Discord is no substitute for forums – I find Discord exhausting. And trying to find information, or catch up on a conversation, just too much hassle. Almost every Discord channel I’m currently a member of has the same problems – two or three super-enthusiastic users dominate a conversation and it quickly feels a bit “clique-y”; if you’re not involved all the time them (because of the aforementioned problems in catching up with a conversation) it’s easy to be made to feel “left out”

Did you have cake this year and why not? Not yet. But just as soon as our local cafes are open (or, tbh, the weather warms up a little bit so sitting outside doesn’t feel like the physical endurance trial it does at the moment) and I’ll be gorging coffee & walnut with the rest of them!

No pledge this week. And I’ve been listening to a lot of 90s indie rubbish like Neds Atomic Dustbin this week, so I won’t inflict any of that on you lot.

I’m off to try out Blitz Bowl. Apparently it’s very good.
