Old units get a tidy up

Now that my characters have been painted it’s time to start finishing off some of the units that never got finished. First up it’s my Fleet Troopers. These were painted 2-3 years ago now (time means nothing anymore) which was when I was experimenting with dip and shockingly before Brainmatter Beige was a thing!

I got one miniature finished but wasn’t entirely happy with how they turned out so the project stalled. Also I realised after I painted them that the unit leader wore a different colour outfit. (looks like a 70’s safari suit!) This also needed fixing!

With the leader correctly coloured it was a case of washing everything with army painter tones (soft tone / flesh wash / blue tone /dark tone) basing, Matt coating and glossing the visors. Yes I know the helmets are white in the fluff but I like life and don’t need the hassle of painting white! I went for a sky grey in the end!
