Rise of the Kage Infiltrates Kickstarter!

The time is finally here, the ninja of the Shadow Wind Clan are ready to infiltrate the forces of Ryu in their attempts to assassinate the Daimyo. Rise of the Kage has risen to Kickstarter!
Rise of the Kage is a board game for two to four players. One player takes on the role of the Guardsmen of Ryu, defending the Daimyo against the stealthy ninja.
The board game includes 44 miniatures, including two guard bosses, guard miniatures and six individual ninjas.
Players will also have resources to draw upon in the form of cards, letting them get an edge over their opponents through careful use of what tools they've brought along.
We've been following developments of Rise of the Kage for a while now and it is awesome to see it appear on Kickstarter. It's only been up for a day, but it looks like it has already had a good level of success. If it keeps this up than we could hopefully see some stretch goals appear at some stage.
Which side do you think you'll play as? The ninjas or the guards?

I suspect an AI deck for the guards wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility as a stretch goal…
It looks like it might be a fun game, but $100 is a lot to ask for a game that: a) I’ve never played and b) I can’t see any of the rules for. The minis are cool, but are they cool enough? The thing you see more Kickstarters doing these days is giving people free previews of the rules. At the very least give us a video demo or something. I’m on the fence. Right now, I think I’d rather wait for a commercial product with some reviews than take the risk on a game I know next to… Read more »
