Wizards of the Coast have announced during PAX Prime that they will be taking D&D digital across multiple platforms.

D&D 1

While having D&D in a digital format game wise is nothing new, I believe this is the first time they will be formally developing games for multiple platforms. I know in the past there have been some attempts to deliever they D&D experience to PC, iOS,  Android system, i.e.: Baldur's Gate among others,  but it just lacked in the finite controls (which may have changed with recent updates).

D&D 2

Now Wizards of the Coast is working with several video games studios to develop games for multiple platforms. there will be an Xbox One version of the MMORPG Neverwinter and there will also be a "castle defense" type game for mobile devices.

D&D 3

Lastly, they also announced an Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition for iOS, Android and PC later in the year. According to Wizards of the Coast, this D&D goodness is supposed to start appearing in the first quarter of 2015. Being a long time D&D (1st / 2nd edition) player it will be interesting to see how this is received.

Will you join in on the next adventure?
