New Star Wars Bad Batch, Andor & Rogue Squadron Teasers!
December 11, 2020 by brennon
Star Wars is getting another big set of shows throughout the next few years. Revealed this week, we're getting all manner of new shows through Disney+ alongside a full Star Wars film which is going to be landing in 2023. My favourite announcement though was for The Bad Batch!
Star Wars: The Bad Batch
The Bad Batch follows a group of unique clones that were first seen during The Clone Wars animated series and how they deal with the changing Republic as The Emperor takes over. With the switch The Empire running the show it will be interesting to see just how much The Bad Batch toes the line before realising they need to stick it to "the man". This is an era of Star Wars I've not really delved into but it's great to see a return of the old art style and these characters.
Cassian Andor Returns
Moving over to shows which are live-action, we also got teasers and sizzle reels for a new show which follows the dashing Cassian Andor and his exploits before Rogue One.
Star Wars: Andor
It seems like a lot has already been done on this show but there is still quite a way to go before we get to see Cassian Andor kicking ass. However, it's nice to see what they are returning to one of the best Star Wars entries of recent years. Rogue One certainly managed to nail it in many regards.
Rogue Squadron Reporting In
The first big film from Disney for Star Wars post-sequels is going to be Rogue Squadron and it will be helmed by Patty Jenkins who did a sterling job on the first Wonder Woman film.
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Fusing together her love of fighter planes and Star Wars, this seems like a pretty darn cool entry into the film series for Star Wars and I am all for a bit of "Top Gun But In Space" fun. It will be a return to the original trilogy era as well one assumes so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out! I have fingers crossed!
Even More Star Wars!
Not content with just giving us a little peek at what's coming up in the trailers above, we also got a lot more news for what else is coming down the pipeline. To start with the Obi-Wan Kenobi show is going to feature the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader although how that's going to work, we've yet to find out. One assumes we'll see some cuts between what Kenobi is up to and what Darth Vader is attempting as The Empire reaches out across the galaxy.
There are also going to be spin-offs from The Mandalorian including an Ahsoka Tano series and Rangers Of The New Republic. Both will take place within the continuity of The Mandalorian and come to a head with a big story moment. Ezra Bridger's return anyone?
We're also going to be seeing a show all about Lando Calrissian and another called The Acolyte which is going to be set during the time of The High Republic. There is even Star Wars: Visions which is going to be focusing in on an anime showing that crosses all manner of different timelines.
One would hope that with all of these new shows we've got to be getting some new miniatures for Star Wars: Legion, right?
So, is that enough Star Wars for you?

I think “Imperial Interlude” has it’s life expanded beyond The Mandalorian, don’t you think so too @grimwolfuk ? 😉
There will certainly be a lot to talk about considering this raft of reveals!
Could be right 😉
They all look great which means I’ll have to do some binge watching the other series to get up to speed Lol ho hum the sacrifices I have to make.
Seems like these have potential though I’d be a bit worried having so many different series all at once working on different timelines might make for a bit of confusion and burn out. Hopefully they navigate it all well.
They seem fairly spread out which is good – and I think the mix of animation and live-action will also help.
I hope so. Certainly willing to give Disney the benefit of the doubt as they did a good job with the MCU.
It would be cool to see the Bad Batch focus on things from an Imperial side rather than have them resist/break to the “rebel” side (ex. putting down resistance, tracking down Jedi, etc) but that might be a bit to grey/dark for Star Wars and Disney.
Oh mama the bad batch ?
Got to admit, part of me is hoping Rogue Squadron is set post-Rise of Skywalker, mainly so we can get Denis Lawson back as a Wedge Antilles to guide a new generation of Rogues….
I’m really sorry to all the Star Wars fans, but it’s starting to grate on me just a little bit how much they continue to milk the franchise. I still love the original prequels, but with the new movies and how much they’ve tried to push a new movie or show every year, it feels like it’s wearing out its welcome. (And I shall refrain from sharing my thoughts on the Mandalorian because I know it’ll spark fan rage.)
With Rogue Squadron wonder if they will bring in Corran Horn?
Fingers crossed these will be good.
More Star Wars goodness!
They are really delivering with new SW content. Might be too much but we shall see. How ever personally I am optimistic about these.
I’m hoping for more than just ” Top Gun in Space ” for Rogue Squadron,i know they’ll ignore the books, which is a shame in my mind, but i’ll give it a go anyhow.I very much look forward to Ahsoka,Obi-Wan and the Bad Batch, they will all be very well received in my household for future viewing.
Awesome……….sorry returned to 1977 when i first saw Star wars in the pictures…
