Antediluvian Showcase New Fantastical Monster Miniatures
December 9, 2020 by brennon
Antediluvian Miniatures have been showing off two new 28mm sculpts for use in your games of Fantasy adventure on the tabletop. We start with a creature from Celtic folklore called the Athach.
Athach // Antediluvian Miniatures
An Athach in folklore is akin to a giant and is often found haunting gorges and lonely lochans (small lochs) and lakes. You could imagine this creature being the prime culprit in a Dark Age adventure on the tabletop, stealing away livestock from the local farmers and threatening the villages of the highlands.

Maybe, if you were to be making up a scenario for him, you'd find your warband heading off into the wild mountain regions of Scotland in search of the beast. You could track his trail across the tabletop and be led into ambushes by wolves and bandits perhaps before you finally end up locating the cave where the Athach has called home.
You could even add this creature into something more Medieval too if you wanted to make use of the rest of Antediluvians collection.
Spawn Of Zorgan!
As another interesting foe for an adventuring party to face we also have this smaller version of Zorgan which is on the way.
Zorgan // Antediluvian Miniatures
This fellow is still a frightening prospect to face on the tabletop with his reaching and barbed tentacles and that toothy maw but isn't quite to the scale of the BIG Zorgan that Antediluvian already make.

I like the idea of using it in a dungeon crawl and being a bit of a "fake boss" for your adventuring party to face down in the depths of some dank dungeon. They beat this and then suddenly the ground shakes before the real Zorgan emerges from a pool of black water and starts bringing the room down around them.
What do you make of these new previews?

Cool minis. The size comparison miniature looks awesome, anybody around knows its brand?
That is also from Antediluvian I believe.
The troll/giant?looks great, an Zorgan is a fabulous looking beast to harass adventures.
