Building A Frostgrave Chronomancer Warband
Finished Warband With Appropriate Wintery Basing!
Here is the final collection of images showing off the finished warband. I applied a wash to all of the miniatures here and then did a bit of highlighting. The Wizard & Apprentice got the most work in terms of highlighting and shading.
The rest of the miniatures in the warband were painted with basecoat as shown below and then given a little bit of extra detail work around their faces just to make them stand out.
The Thugs were presented as looking a bit slapdash. I liked the lady who was carting around that big bag of loot and the woman who is clearly drinking her way through some forgotten alcohol they have found in the ruins.
You’ve also got the cunning looking Thieves who are stepping up to the plate. I did both a male and female option for this warband.
We also have some nice miniatures painted up for the two Archers in the warband and the Ranger who is going to be upstaging them at every turn I reckon!
In terms of basing, I worked in a big bunch of snow since this is Frostgrave and then did a little bit of grass over the top to make it look like it’s not all just massive snowdrifts everywhere!
I would normally have added some tufts and such into the mix here too but I think it looks nice as a plain set of bases.
There is still a LOT of miniatures left within the different plastic kits that I got from North Star and I am very eager to try and tinker with them some more to make additional characters for Frostgrave warbands AND maybe something for Rangers Of Shadow Deep too.
Really like the combination of orange and blue upon the Wizard and mage feels like a college of magic or shrine temple vestment
