Making The Warband

North Star Military Figures have a massive array of different plastic sets to use when building a Frostgrave warband now so I went with options from the Male & Female Soldiers plastic kits plus the Male & Female Wizards sets.

My idea is that I would build a warband which uses the more typical Frostgrave adventurers whilst Gerry and Warren are focusing on more thematic warbands based around Cultists and Barbarians.

This is the array of different miniatures I’ve made using the plastic kits that were on offer…

The Chronomancer (left) is holding an hourglass which I thought was quite fitting, made using the bitz from the sprue and then I have her more wild and dangerous Apprentice waving around a sword and carrying all the bags of ingredients. I couldn’t miss out on adding a magical cat into the mix too!

Here are the rest of the miniatures from the warband starting with Archers…

…followed by the Thugs.

…and the Thieves

This is capped off by the Ranger who is going to be making a lot of the strikes against some of the more dangerous elements of the other warbands.

This brings together the ten elements of this warband which I will be painting up soon.

I have been thinking about colour schemes and I think that I’m going to go with blue or purple for the Chronomancer and her Apprentice and then just going motley with the others!

I am tempted to work purple into their outfits at some point though to show their allegiance to the Chronomancer. Maybe a sash or something here and there to represent their links to this spellcaster.
