New Mutants & Inhumans Expand Out Marvel: Crisis Protocol’s Roster

Atomic Mass Games has been teasing more of the Mutants/Inhumans coming to their expanded X-Men/Marvel collection for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. You've got plenty to look forward to including Medusa who was previewed in full this week.

Medusa is one of the Inhumans which will be hitting the tabletop soon alongside her hair which has prehensile attributes! She can use this to deal with her foes, expanding and manipulating it in order to lash out or do more intricate manoeuvres. It might not seem like a particularly powerful ability but she is a rather fearsome Inhuman to face down!

As well as the new showing for the Inhumans we also got a look at some of the new characters coming our way as part of these cards which were shared by Atomic Mass Games.
Brotherhood Of Mutants // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
On the side of the Brotherhood, we can look forward to seeing Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Juggernaut making an appearance in the future to support Magneto, Mystique, Sabretooth and Toad. A pretty solid roster, especially if you want some Avengers support too.
More options are also coming for Xavier's X-Men too.
Uncanny X-Men // Marvel: Crisis Protocol
Here you've got the addition of Cable, Domino and Jean Grey joining up with their X-Men comrades in order to deal with Magneto and his machinations. Combine these new character models with the knowledge that we're getting lots more Inhumans and the cast of characters for Marvel: Crisis Protocol is getting bigger by the day.

I bought the Crisis Protocol starter set and have it painted… but not had chance to play it yet.
Not much chance of me buying anymore stuff, no matter how cool it looks, as they have made the add-on packs far too expensive. I’d pay £40 for a box of five miniatures, but that’s what they’re asking for two.
I agree completely. I really wanted to get into this game so held out for an X-men starter. But in order to buy the 8 figures currently in production I have to spend a 148 sterling! That is with the 20% discount mind you. I think it is ridiculous considering they are plastic sprues. I would gladly pay 85 sterling for a team box of eight. Look at the DC Miniature game box sets are selling a approx 35 sterling for six figures in resin. The difference is staggering. It is truly a pity. They have priced me out before… Read more »
The idea of not doing an X-Men starter will always perplex me. So many people were holding out for the X-Men to join the game. They said during Gen Con Live that it was to keep casual players/gamers from assuming there are two separate games. Without a starter, X-Men only players are at a huge disadvantage as they won’t have a legal 10 figure roster or enough Crisis cards to bring to the table. also remember that you don’t need to buy what you don’t need. A starter with x number is a great value but if you don’t like the figures or play them. I find the cost in line as that i may not get that many figures ( which means i can paint them and store them easy ), i only get the ones that i like and play them ( Guardians and friends ), most of the X men and others i don’t care about so not a real issue ( unless you collect everything but then, it’s almost a… Read more »
The only thing to keep in mind when picking and choosing what to buy that you like is that you have to take consideration into what Crisis and Tactic cards come with what characters. I had zero interest in Vision/Winter Solider (I’m not playing Avengers currently) but the “Field Dressing” Tactics card it comes with is an amazing card, practically a staple.
I haven’t painted the starter set yet (I was really disheartened when I saw the ridiculous price of the expansions), but otherwise I’m in exactly the same situation.
Maybe if they weren’t shifting units the price would drop to something more reasonable, but while they are making sales why would they voluntarily lower their profits.
But it is sadly a game for people with money to burn.
Medusa looks really good.
Unfortunately Medusa is an Inhuman and not a mutant. The image doesn’t go with the article at all.

The title refers to the additional cards we saw recently too. But, if it helps – I added Inhumans into the title as well.
Okay, not gonna lie, with that headline I expected actual New Mutants characters. ?
Right? My heart skipped a beat. I’ve been a new mutant fanboy since I was a child. It’s the team I really look forward to.
I am really pleased they really seem to focus on the teams as they were in the 80’s and 90’s and not to much on current appearances.
I just love that old look and those old teams.

The model is gorgeous, and I can’t wait to see the Crystal model they teased. I am a bit surprised to be getting Inhumans before the Fantastic Four, though.
