Speed paint
SO I have been an army speed painter for a very long time. I paint my armies to what I call stage one as fast as possible, to play with them, I paint in such a way that at anytime I can return to the unit and improve its quality as high as stage 4.
This army is all stage 1, except the Characters and Dragonslayers which are halfway in stage 2.
The reason I work like this is you can get a fun army on the table and then upgrade it a little each week to improve the look.
After assembly I decide on the best priming method for what the units color scheme will be. I always prime 3 colors it seems like a lot of work but saves you time in the long run. For example the armored unit here where primed in German gray, Then steel from the side and silver from above. The fire unit where primes dessert yellow bone and white.
I do not paint the bases for my armies in stage 1. I go with a dark neutral color and leave it as that for now until stage 2.
