November 7, 2020 at 7:36 am #1579980Where were you when I went into self-isolation back in late march? Anyways – during the first lockdown, I spent over 400 hours building, correcting, detailing, painting and lighting a Star Destroyer:
Now, I’m scratch-building an escort ship for the Star Destroyer at the same scale (1/2700): An Interdictor Cruiser. I’ve finished building and detailing the upper half of the ship and I’m now in the process of painting it before I move on to drilling .5mm-holes for the fiberoptics into the finished sub-assembly:

My wife would say that I bought a lot of paint – and yeah, she is right. I bought an awful lot of paint since march. So here is what I did with all that paint…
I painted a 2000 pts army for Eldar. The center pieces are the Phantom Lord and Phantom Knight.
This one is a copy from a model I saw in the White Dwarf Magazine.
The Knight is completely magnatized with every option available in the box.Next I completed a 2000 pts army of Imperial Knights. Surprisingly, it doesn’t take as long as I initially thought to complete 2 Questoris and 1 Dominis class Knight.
I like how the bases turned out. I picked up weathering powders when I saw them used by Warren in a VLog show.Three more projects to go….
First, I continued my Stormcast Eternals and added some Evocators and a Lord Ordinator accompanied by some other models.
Second, I painted the Space Marines of the Indomitus Box completely.
And finally I gave my boardgames some love they deserve, from HeroQuest to Starcadia Quest on to Blackstone Fortress.
And yes indeed, that was an awful lot of paint. But it is also an awful lot of miniatures done. I really need to slow down, but there is already a terrain project on my desk, waiting to be assembled.
November 7, 2020 at 11:00 am #1580013We haven’t been in lockdown here in Australia (Except Victoria) for about 6 months now but it looks like fun so I’ll jump in. Just went to the first post-covid LOTR Tourney here in QLD called “The Return of the Tourney”, 600 Points I went with 18 Dunedain, Halbarad and Arathorn, came 9th out of 40 which I’m extremely happy with.
Now that those are done I’m moving on to my Generic Fantasy Halflings, 1 box of Wargames Atlantic is 99% painted and 2 more ready to be built along with some characters and artillery.

November 7, 2020 at 3:08 pm #1580055Seems like a perfect place to show off my attempts to clear out some of my Reaper Bones minis that are waiting for paint. The giant beetle was done using Vallejo’s Color Shifters. Wonderfully odd paint that is really thin and not at all the same color wet as dry. Apply it over a gloss black and one gets amazing colors. Going to have to use it on some vehicles and aliens in the future.
November 7, 2020 at 3:28 pm #1580058Since new lockdown was announced in Ireland, I finished painting three figures and today took some photos for fun… I need to learn my photo editing softwere a bit better.

November 7, 2020 at 4:11 pm #1580060I’m currently plodding on with some Napoleonic British line infantry. Almost done with these dozen.
Lurking in the back behind the paints are some samurai that will be next for painting.
