Join Us For The Lockdown Leisure League: We’re All In This Together!
November 20, 2020 by crew
As the world steadily returns into lockdown, hobbyists alike are no stranger to self-preservation. We are already professionals at picking up our tools with self-motivation and using our hands to drive our creativity towards something that makes us happy.

Although, taking part socially within our community is something that we all truly miss since external hobby spaces have closed their doors to the general public. Talking to our peers as we put paintbrushes to miniatures and terrain in the same room, engaging in adventures that have no bounds on the tabletop with our friends and foes.
In This Together
We here at Wayland Games and OnTableTop understand being stuck behind closed doors and separated from our loved ones can have an emotional strain on our mental well-being and so over the next month, we will be running the Lockdown Leisure League.
The Lockdown Leisure League covers any type of Hobby, anywhere, by absolutely anybody. You could be an avid wargamer and want to showcase your newest paintwork to your proud party of miniatures. A board or card gamer looking to take on the next challenge with family. Perhaps even an ambitious cosplayer, looking for the chance to showcase the next character you've been working on in Lockdown.
You do not need to be a professional to take part! Learn how to draw, paint, and play, sailing through this lockdown as a community with hobbyists worldwide, alongside the teams at OnTableTop and Wayland Games.
Hobby With Us & Win!
During the Leisure Lockdown League, we will be giving away a variety of Golden Voucher Codes, available to be used on the OnTableTop or the Wayland Games store. These vouchers range from £5 all the way up to £50! You could use this to put towards the purchase of a new game you have been ogling, reinvest in your tools, or maybe pick up that set of miniatures you’ve been dying to snap up - the choice is yours.
How Do I Get Involved?
Engaging with the community is all you need to do, whether you are on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. All you have to do is include the hashtag #LockdownLeisureLeague in your post and we’ll keep an eye out for your fantastic work!
Post Your Hobby Projects On Social Media
Post Your Hobby Projects In The OnTableTop Forum Thread
Not an active user of these platforms? Post an update of your hobby-antics with the above hashtag in the OnTableTop Forum Thread. Or, you can engage in the OnTableTop Discord Server where there will be a designated chat room where you can engage in conversation with many other hobbyists similar to yourself. However you want to participate, you’re not alone and we can’t wait to see what you’re working on.
How Do I Win Golden Voucher Codes?
Each week the combined teams from Wayland Games and OnTableTop are going to be scouring Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Discord and the OnTableTop Forum Thread to see what you’ve been doing. Once we’ve picked winners we’ll be contacting those lucky enough to have snagged a voucher with a link which will allow you to claim it for the store of your choice. You might even get featured on OnTableTop’s Weekender in a special segment!

What about the projects section of this site?
We’re focusing it in on the forum thread for this particular event @jodain so it’s all in one place.
Missed the forum thread link in the post @brennon – thanks!
Looking forward to the hobbying 🙂
What about creating a project, then sharing a link to it using the #lockdownleisureleague hashtag on the forum (or the Twitters/Facepages)? It seems a shame not to make use of the project system, and writing stuff up twice would be a pita.
If you want to make a project then go for it and link through to it in the forum thread with one image to show off what you’ve done, that’s cool.
Schoolwork or hobby…you guys really like to make this choice difficult, don’t you? 😛
Little bit of both seems good to me 🙂
I agree with your theory. Not sure my professors will, but I won’t tell them if you don’t, mate. 😛
Is this for this lockdown or this years lockdown in general?
For whatever you’ve been hobbying on over the past few months and now. Not everyone in the world is in lockdown of course so this is just a way of everyone who is hobbying right now to come together and share their work to inspire others.
