After basecoats I applied Army Painter Dark Tone as I wanted to make them a bit Grim Dark, so it was a few passes of Base Colours and Washes to work in shadow and pick up basic highlights… and that was kind of it for the Necron apart from bilious green (yup an old GW Bilious Green… probably a 30 year old pot of paint!) for the gun glow, bit of gold to break up the silver body on joints, spine and back of head and Bob’s your Uncle

I wanted to add weathering to the marine so I applied bits of Dark Flesh (another older GW paint… in fact all my paints are ancient) and silver with dark tone smudges to achieve a grubby battered look.

Didn’t like the moulded bases so it is sand and homemade dead/dried vegetation (aka dyed pencil shaving).

Pretty happy with the overall result on the minis for a quick experiment. Threw on a couple of transfers I found in my bits box and… done
