Doctor Who Returns Tonight, Don’t Forget!

For those Whovians out there remember that Doctor Who is heading back to our screens tonight with Peter Capaldi in the lead role this time around. Let's hope for a very dark and moody Doctor!
The new episode, Deep Breath will be on at 7:50pm UK time tonight on BBC One so watch out for it and let's see how things have changed with the new series. Jenna Coleman is still in the role of Clara and it will be interesting to see how things change dynamically between her and Peter Capaldi.
Will you be watching?
Clear the decks and lock the doors, turn off the phones.
Looking forward to this so much. He’s a great actor and has perfect timing, pitch and rhythm to put menace and agelessness into even the simplest phrase.
I’m so looking forward to this. It’s a massive favourite in my house we will all be there tonight. Except my son who is going to see it at the cinema.
Past 9 years havent been my cup of tea (each to their own though), but I REALLY like Capaldi and feel I might be able to enjoy it a little bit again with him at the helm. -tendrills crossed-
I don’t like what they did to the theme tune they should bring back the original theme tune.
That is a very complex statement. Each doctor has his own theme, and some of them have more than one each.
Are we talking William Hartnel’s one, then? 😛
yup
Do you think that was Rani at the end.
Also disappointed we didn’t get a “Pass me my fuckity sonic screwdriver. “
Didn’t like the new intro graphics, but thought the music was more in line with the original. I like how this whole episode was about the audience. Getting the audience via Clara to like the new ‘old’ Dr. The story was secondary.
The new intro looked more like University Challenge! Didn’t like them at all
And they didn’t melt him with acid
Sorry but I was confused from the start did not get it. Can some one explain to me what the episode was about?
Women/females.
I liked the line about the angry eyebrows.
Was it worth watching? I am not a Dr Who fan but I found the Matt Smith Dr Who, with its Lost like writing and half serialised structure to be quite outstanding .. until the handful of “conclusion” episodes revealed it was just being made up as he went along, and it was all BS that made no sense (and the appalling retcon that the Dr didn’t destroy his race after all, cutting a huge lump of what made the “new” Dr(s), complex characters out…). Is it worth watching and giving my time to this time round? Will I be… Read more »
Pretty big call to make after a single episode. The first one will always be about establishing a new doctor and starting a his relationship with the rest of the crew. I’ve never seen one that emphasised the ‘human’ side of regeneration so much and he has already given a bit of depth to his character that took Matt a while to find.
There is a very different feel to this one though. A bit more……..literary (!) for want of a better word. Overall I don’t have a problem with him.
