At the forefront of the releases for this week we have some ground-attack aircraft for the Soviets. These planes were well-designed and effective at their job. As with everything with the Soviets they were produced in great numbers and were a mainstay of the army throughout the war.

On the anti-air front, we have some new options with the ZSU M17 AA Platoon.

These units were another of the lend-lease options which were dropped into the Soviet army with their big ol' quad .50 cal machine guns. They were light anti-aircraft guns which could fight off what was left of the German airforce during Operation Bagration.

You can also punish German armour with the Heavy Tank-Killer Company.

You can either build these as 57mm or 76mm guns which could be used to blast holes in oncoming tanks. These guns sacrificed mobility for firepower and could knock out pretty much anything that the Germans threw at them. You'd often find them supported by infantry as they raced past under their watchful eye.

If you're looking for a lighter option then you've also got the Light Tank-Killer Company option here too.

This became a standard option for the Soviets and could be found amongst many of the motor rifle battalions which ranged across the battlefield. Small, light-weight guns that are able to deal with medium weight tanks and packs of infantry sound like a good idea!

Are you going to be picking these up for your Flames Of War games?
