North Star Preview First 28mm Oathmark Skeleton Test Miniatures

North Star Military Figures showed off some new previews of the 28mm scale test miniatures which are going to be popping up alongside the Oathbreakers expansion to Oathmark: Battles Of The Lost Age. See what you think of these plastic skeletons!
Oathmark Skeleton Archers // North Star Military Figures
This is going to be part of the new 28mm plastic kit which will support the Oathbreakers expansion. In that book (which we looked at earlier in the week) you'll find options to introduce the undead into your Oathmark campaigns and these miniatures can make up the bulk of that force.
So far we've seen some options for these skeletons with bows and also hand weapons and shields. So, you've got the options present within the set to make the rank and file you need in your games when building a mass battle force.

The miniatures here match up quite nicely to the artwork that we saw on the cover of Oathbreakers and have that awesome shambling quality to them from classic Fantasy. It works very well with the Tolkienesque elements of Fantasy that Oathmark was woven into his aesthetic through their releases.
It looks like the miniatures will be typical to the North Star Military Figures plastic range in that the legs and bodies are integrated into the base with the arms, heads and weapon options being available to plug into place. Let's hope they aren't too fiddly to put together!
When it comes to painting, splash some off-white on those bones and paint the weapons and armour up in bronze (with a little bit of weathering!) and you'd have a fine army finished in no time.
Are you tempted by these from this early look?
"When it comes to painting, splash some off-white on those bones and paint the weapons and armour up in bronze and you'd have a fine army finished in no time..."
Yes I am tempted.I already have a big box of Erehwon skellybob’s plus a box of the Wargames Atlantic ones as well, but these look like they’ll fit right into my ( growing ) Undead Kingdoms easily.
Fabulous detailed looking skeletons.
Nice looking skelibobs… reminds me I’m still waiting for Heresy Andy to start his KS for the skelibob with the fabulous hair.
I like these.
Going to have to pick up a box or two of these.
They are going to have to be super value (ie super numerous) to beat the value of the Mantic undead army box. This has been my go to to create the core of an undead army for Age of Magic. I think the Mantic zombies are the best for design too.
Need ’em.
Lloyd is going to love these- no bat winged helmets! I’m very partial to them as well. I just wish they would add some skeletal beastmen, dwarfs, elves and orcs into the plastic sprue fray, being fantasy nd all.
Sweet! Already got umpteen thousands of mantic skellies but I do very much like the look of these. Provided they’re not too pricey or in a million bits I think I’ll be picking these up…
I’m loving the European Bronze Age vibe these have with their conical helms, round chest guards and the socket axehead bound to the haft. Superb.
Wow, they look good! There are a lot of nice, cheap skeleton plastix boxes on the market (Mantic, Wargames atlantic, Erehwon), but from now on I like these the most.
Nick over at Northstar also leaked that they are also doing “Revenants” (Undead Heavy Infantry), presumably these will continue the Bronze age look). The good thing about these plastics is that hopefully there isn’t going to be a load of parts (Like the Wargames Atlantic ones), meaning that building up a mass of them isn’t going to take ages (although they will be less posable) 🙂
Love the Bronze Age skeleton look….
