Those who love the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game by Games Workshop will be pleased to know three new miniatures are making their way to the tabletop soon. The Personalities Of Bree set is going to be available for pre-order this coming Friday from Forge World.

Barliman Butterbur - Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game

We start with a faithful companion of the Hobbits, at least whilst they were in Bree. After putting them up in The Prancing Pony, Barliman Butterbur was quite the help in avoiding the clutches of the Ringwraiths, even if he did forget to give them Gandalf's message!

I am looking forward to seeing him included in narrative scenarios, bellowing "Nob!" at the top of his voice. That does mean you need to try and model the hapless servant Butterbur has in his employ too for good measure.

You can also snap up a somewhat unlikely addition to the Middle-earth range. This here is Harry Goatleaf, the Gatekeeper Of Bree.

I think it would be neat, again, to include him as part of your narrative games and perhaps you can save him from getting trampled! Miniatures like Goatleaf and Butterbur all help to build the narrative in your games and give them a big dash of colour. With a really nice table, additional characters like these and some good music playing in the background you could immerse yourself in Middle-earth.

A final addition to the set is a well-loved character. Meet Bill The Pony!

Bill is named after Bill Ferny so that perhaps in the long-run his name could do some good rather than being the treacherous swine that he was! The miniature has had a little bit of an upgrade since his old metal days and looks no less able to carry the Fellowship's burdens all the way to Moria.

Are you tempted by these new characters for use in your Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game adventures?
