Bolster The Ranks Of Your Warhammer 40K Necron Army
October 5, 2020 by brennon
Games Workshop is also doing a little bit of housekeeping with the addition of some new sets for those playing as Necrons in Warhammer 40,000. If you're looking to add some more relentless soldiers to your ranks then you'll be pleased to know you will be able to buy some Necron Warriors soon!

This set now allows you to buy a set of infantry for your games that were previously only available as part of the various boxed sets. You get your standard compliment of Necron Warriors in the set plus the obligatory Scarab Swarms that flit between their metallic legs.
I am still taken by the updated Necron design. I especially like the battle damage that they worked into the miniatures to show that not all Necron Warriors are squeaky clean and straight off the "production line". Whilst big glowy sticks in their guns is something many have missed, I do like the new designs and it certainly helps to develop a more up-to-date look and feel for the Necrons.
Necron Destroyers
In addition to the Necron Warriors, you will also be able to pick up some of the new Destroyer miniatures separately too. The Skorpekh Destroyers are making an appearance!

These frenzied warriors on their three legs are the tough close combat option for the Necrons right now. You'll no doubt have seen them in the cinematic trailer for the new edition and they do have a terrifying sense of scale to them when you consider them up close and personal with regular infantry.
You also get a Plasmacyte as part of the kit who can drive these Destroyers into a frenzy so they can reap even higher a tally. Now we move from close combat to ranged engagements with the Hexmark Destroyer who is also going to be available this weekend.

Armed with six devastating enmitic disintegrator pistols (yes, six) these sharpshooters are some of the best gunslingers in the grimdark future. They look super cool and decidedly creepy. I don't think I'd want to see one of these stepping out of the ether as it charges up its pistols.
Are you going to be snapping up these Necrons to help boost your armies ranks?

We needz moar ORKZ!
I would imagine they are coming soon – well, I hope so anyway!
Welcome back Ben 😉 I hope so too… or rather not. Depending on how they look it might drive me in deeper…
Before the end of 2020 we are supposed to have codexes for
Blood Angles
Space Wolves
Deathwatch
Death Guard
Those announced for 2021:
Dark Angels
1st Xenos race
Perhaps the Boyz arrive this time next year???
Don’t think GW would pass up to opportunity for a real Orktober…
Again!!
Except for the fact that they haven’t done a real Orktober in years. I honestly don’t remember when the last time was that they released more than one ork kit in October.
We are getting the Necrons codex in a few days, so there is a Xenos race with a codex before 2021 …
Practically any faction that isn’t spacemarine needs more new stuff.
I get that the pretty boys in blue get their stuff first, but it’s a bit overkill in silly spacemarine plastic at the moment.
All new Necron models have been great and these are as well.
It’s the tripods?
I rather liked the glowy bits *sniff*. What a shame.
I’ve been reading through Stephen Hunt’s Jackelian books lately, and there’s been a serious temptation to pick up some of these new Necrons to convert into steammen knights.
