#PathOfConquest Dweghom Miniature Painting Tutorial
September 22, 2020 by johnlyons
Today we're looking at the stocky Dweghom in this miniature painting tutorial using primarily contrast paints. Continuing our #PathOfConquest the Hold Ballistae are the next unit that John is tackling for Para Bellum Wargames' Conquest: The Last Argument Of Kings.

John reaches the final faction of Conquest in these contrast painting tutorials. The Dweghom get the love and attention they deserve with a Hold Ballista figure getting the contrast treatment. John uses the basilicanum grey as the base to provide most of the shading for the piece, layering on leather and shield colours afterwards. A tasty little green number adds a nice bit of variation to finish it off.

I know these are just quick test pieces but they make me cringe anyway.
This is probably my least favorite of the schemes, not sure what else could have been done, more green? Different color?
I wasn’t sure about the green for the helmet to start with, but it came out really quite good in the end and could be used easily as a way to mark different units. Thanks John.
Thanks John . I have been enjoying these. I love basicallum grey as an undershade (and overshade, particularly on metallics) . A useful guide and I’ll try a few of these techniques.
he looks great an could be a perfect as a grouchy town guard john.
