Artel W has some new releases for fans of science fiction wargaming that are ideal for people looking to add some alternative characters to their games of Warhammer 40,000, or if you just want to paint some beautiful miniatures that are brimming full of character. The releases include the first two sisters of corruption with the remaining pair due soon and an Inquisitor to deal with these monstrous heretics.

Sister Bloodshedda

Sister Bloodshedda // Artel W Miniatures

The first of our corrupted sisters is Sister Bloodshedda, not a subtle name which is perfectly fine as she is not a subtle person. Sister Bloodshedda dedicated herself to serving the Dark Gods through infinite violence. From now on, her life is an endless battle, the only goal of which is furious bloodshed. The model has beheaded some poor fellow and is a striking looking sculpt without being over the top. There are options available the severed head can be replaced with an axe or pistol and there is a head variant with a wry smile (probably imagining the havoc to come) her left hand chain axe can also be swapped for a power axe or elaborate sword.

Sister Pestillencia Artel W

Sister Pestilencia // Artel W Miniatures

Sister Pestilencia swore an oath of loyalty to the forces of Decay, Death and Infection. Now she is the Reaper of Souls, carrying the unholy gifts of her Master to the doomed worlds. The corruption is more visible on this poor fallen sister, there are less options for Pestilencia but they are still in keeping with the miniature and her fall. The massive flamer can be replaced with a wicked scythe and three head options are available depending on the look you are going for. To make up for the reduced options there's a whimistical little fellow running ahead with a incense billowing censer. He looks happy with his lot in life

Lady Inquisitor Alba Snow

Lady Inquisitor Alba Snow // Artel W Miniatures

Beware, vile evel-doers, as Lady-Inquisitor Alba Snow is coming to make right from the wrong! Do not try to deceive her with your poisonous fruits - her loyal Skull Charming is on guard with probes and analyzers. This is probably my favourite of the sculpts, although I'm biased as I rarely delve into sci-fi these days and with the options available this model can easily grace a fantasy tabletop. Skull charming is a cute touch for the grim dark future but dropping in the apple and the pistol sitting it out in favour of a matching armour plate on the right hip means my Paladins could find a new hero for Kings of War. The detailing on the armour plates is gorgeous, intricate but crisp and restrained and that will paint up like a dream.

Once again Artel W has shown off just how good they are in producing characterful minis for your games and if you're looking for a unique hero to stand you out from the crowd then they're always worth looking into what they're creating. I'm just waiting now to see what comes next from them, I hear ab-human guard are on the cards!

Lady Alba out now, seven Zwegs to come later
