The Grey Knights Arrive To Do Some 40k Daemon Slaying
August 16, 2014 by brennon
Games Workshop have stayed true to the leaks and made it the week of the Grey Knights with the new Codex plus a Limited Edition version and some Datacards as well to get your objectives in order...
Some very nice looking art prints come with the Collectors Edition of the Codex but I think the standard artwork for the basic Codex is very good indeed. Once again I think it would be safe to say it has been done by the talented Raymond Swanland. It will be interesting to see how the Grey Knights develop and what new powers and ploys they will be able to bring to the fore.
As well as that they get the Datacards that were mentioned before bringing along a whole bunch of Psychic Cards and the Objective Cards that you can use in-game. Not a bad little set and like most of the Games Workshop 'power cards' they are fairly good value for money too.
Will you be picking up Grey Knights?

I hope they have something really “elite” in their vehicles. Perhaps something like the Landraider Achilles since these are rock hard and very rare in the fluff.
Also, noticed they have a seperate dataslate for assassins. is this new? The description says its for fielding an army of assassins!!!
There;s no way they’re getting the Achilles, which is FW only. They do get a special LR in IA2v2, but it’s rubbish since you can essentially make the same thing from the current codex for cheaper.
The assassin dataslate is new, current rumour is they’ve been removed from the dex (along with all Inq stuff) and that the dataslate will allow you to field them as a formation in any Imperium army.
I’m kind of interested in what they do, I am wondering if we will see various things getting the psycannon option.
I had heard Mordrak and Thawn are gone which is a shame, finger crossed Crowe gets done better.
There’s supposedly a purifier formation that lets Crowe take some sort of bodyguard unit, otherwise he;s still a one man band unfortunately.
Any new models rumoured to arrive??
No, only new thing is a repack of the current box. Marketed as a 10man strike squad, it’s about 10% cheaper than buying two of the 5 man boxes.
Can’t wait for a serious review for BoW to do on this codex. The Rumors are flying and are NOT GOOD about this army. Major Nerfs across the board. Psyflemans are no longer, Psycannons are now “Salvo” from their original”Assault”. Anything good coming out of this codex at all other then Santic Powers Perils only on double 6’s or more?
So this was posted on another well known web site as a leaked dex mods if this link is not allowed on this site plz feel free to delete
Any way brothers of Titan behold and weep

sorry gents but this is not but a repackage and nurfed down grey knights. to be a pro con type of ploy we loose characters GW does not have models to sell, we loose inqui unless we allie, we loose assasin as well unless u data slate them. we loose pyscannon goodness for SS as they are more pts and have salvo. we also loose pysbolt so no more riflemen to take down heavy vehicles. we loose free melee weapons on terminator armour guys. draigo is less pts but with that he looses some profile stats. They word separate pyskers… Read more »
To be honest we haven’t really lost anything as we can ally inq , sm , imp guard, knight titian houses and the assassins it’s just if you want to field a GK only army there isn’t much choice but this codex reminds me of the Deamon hunters grey knights force in the 3rd ed dex there is a lot to Locke a lot to enjoy (33 pts termi’s) and compaired to the 5th ed dex yes we have lost a lot but still it’s a very viable force although on a personal level I will miss anval thrawn
in the old dex we had more choices and units without having go to and buy more over priced little things to make our army work good. kinda a scam but hey on to the book while temies are 35 points not 33 unless you are fine with the sword. your termies and dread knight are all you will get that is the bonus. from before each unit had a purpose and a good measure of tactics to use. now you have hard choices to make in small point armies. the characters we are left with do nothing special as… Read more »
