Marvel: Crisis Protocol by artemis5150

Come and check out our first project which comes from artemis5150 who has been painting up some amazing looking Marvel: Crisis Protocol miniatures. This Core Set has now been finished up and features all of the main heroes and villains who are now ready for a scrap on the tabletop.

Marvel Crisis Protocol #1 by artemis5150

This set has been painted up exceptionally well with lots of excellent detail work making these miniatures pop. The streets of New York work as a good base for these miniatures and highlight just how excellent the paint jobs are. There are a few standout miniatures in this collection too with the Red Skull and his object source lighting, Black Widows well crafted black bodysuit and that cleanly defined Captain America shield.

Marvel Crisis Protocol #3 by artemis5150

Even Spider-Man has been painted up with all of the little black details done across his suit too. I think this is a really neat set of superheroes and villains that deserves to be pictured individually I think so we can see the front and back of these miniatures! Even Iron Man has a nice sheen to his armour making it look like its just rolled off the production queue.

Marvel Crisis Protocol #2 by artemis5150

You've got a lot of details in the villains too with Ultron coming out really nicely with the red glow between the different parts of his armour. Doctor Octopus also hits the ball out of the park, especially with the little purple glow emanating from the tendrils that are writhing out from his backpack.

As a whole, this is a great showcase of Marvel miniatures for Crisis Protocol. The only thing I'd say is that I'd love to see those individual photos showcasing them all individually! Other than that...I think this is a superb little core set collection and I can't wait to see more.

Dark Age Irish by dugthefug1644

Next up we're moving towards one of the most prolific painters in our community. dugthefug1644 is endlessly painting things and the latest focus of his attention seems to be a set of Dark Age Irish for use in SAGA using the plastic kits from Wargames Atlantic alongside a few choice metal figures.

Dark Age Irish #1 by dugthefug1644

dugthefug1644's skills have developed in leaps and bounds over the years since we started running the project system and I think what you're seeing here is an excellent showcase of his talents. As well as getting all of the details looking spot on for a selection of these characters and warriors you've also got things like freehand work on the shields and across the clothing (like the tartan) which takes things to the next level.

Dark Age Irish #2 by dugthefug1644

The most recent set of photos showcased the addition of a bunch of hounds into the mix which are all looking very good indeed. I wouldn't want to be hunted down by these beasts! Additionally, look at the neat tartan work on the handler at the back there. Those lines are all very nicely painted in and blend really well with the rest of the scheme.

This project is pretty endless and there are pictures upon pictures of what he has been working on over the past few weeks. Loads of awesome warriors have come together and I feel like there is much more to come as well.

Dark Age Irish #3 by dugthefug1644

The little details here and there really make an army like this. I love the splashes of blood, the dirt on their clothes and shields and good use of various poses in order to make a dynamic looking warband. The basing also looks like it suits the miniatures perfectly and feels very natural too. This is a fun BIG project which might inspire you to paint your own Dark Age Irish.

Necrons by darkdanegan

Finally, we're heading to the grimdark future and the work of the aptly named darkdanegan who has been working on the Necron half of the Indomitus boxed set for Warhammer 40,000.

Necrons #1 by darkdanegan

This particular idea was born out of listening to music and in particular the band Soundgarden. You can actually follow the thinking on this via the project link above but it's pretty cool and works well with the symbology and such. The names for his characters are also based on the members of the band too!

Necrons #2 by darkdanegan

The scheme here is really cool and seems like a simple idea which is executed exceptionally well. There is a pretty standard metallic/black look to these Necrons but they are elevated with a very neat paint scheme and then the glow effects which make the miniatures stand out all the more. It looks exceptionally good around the chest cavities and the eyes!

Necrons #3 by darkdanegan

This then comes together into creating an excellent looking army which matches the original inspiration and looks incredibly striking on the tabletop. It is framed very well too with those sandy bases and I love that it has been added to certain elements of their bodies to make sure they feel like they fit within that "place". A very cool looking scheme for your Necrons and one which would be fun to replicate.
