Defend The Merchant Convoy In Warlord Games’ Victory At Sea

Warlord Games have another neat release for those playing Victory At Sea. You can now pre-order their Merchant Convoy set which introduces some ships that you might want to protect against the ravages of the enemy during World War II.
Merchant Convoy // Victory At Sea
Inside this set, you're going to get a selection of ships which might stand a chance against the dangerous German Kriegsmarine. Organising into a Convoy might mean that your ships avoid the enemy and it also makes the job easier for those warships who need to keep an eye on them during dangerous crossings.
A lot of very heroic moments happened during World War II away from the battlefields of Normandy and beyond and instead took place in the middle of the ocean against a hidden foe. Here is what you get inside the set...
Merchant Convoy Miniatures // Victory At Sea
Inside the set, you will get three Liberty Merchant Ships, three Victory Merchant Ships, the SS Ohio Tanker Ship and also a bunch of ship cards and damage sliders which are used in gameplay. They are all mounted on those "pool" bases which seem more for display and immediate recognition but the detail on the ships actually does look very cool.
Are you going to set up a new scenario and dive into Victory At Sea?

The ships are nice, but my goodness the prices for this game are very sporting. I don’t think that is going to do it any favours. Also the release schedule is just strange, no logic whatsoever just throwing out ships randomly. It wouldn’t have taken much to theme the base sets and first few ways much better.
I’d want them pre-painted at that price.
The bases initially put me off but I took the plunge (naval pun, good eh!!) and don’t think they’re as bad in the flesh. Certainly from a gamers eye perspective the models look superb, and from that view point the bases blend fairly well with a good sea mat. If you haven’t held one yet the tallest ones are the same as FFG legion bases, or about 2/3 of an FFG Armada squadron base. Their is some warping to manage being resin but hot water has removed the issue in the majority of ships. Oddly some are a darker resin… Read more »
