Scibor’s Sci-Fi Ogres Stomp Onto The Battlefield
August 14, 2014 by brennon
Scibor have been looking at Ogres a lot more recently and they have two very cool ones on their webstore. Would you follow Cossack Ogre #1 and Cossack Ogre #2 into battle? Yeah, that's their actual titles. They aren't too sophisticated these Ogres...
The first miniature would work out well as your unit champion or indeed some HQ replacement on the battlefield. With the advent of unbound armies now there's really nothing stopping you doing a full on Ogryn army for Warhammer 40,000 and using these chaps to mix up the sculpts.
Ogre #2 then works as one of the more heavily armed members of your squad with not only the shoulder mounted cannon but the underslung gun too. Sculpt wise these are very good, as always with Scibor, and they have struck a good realistic look meaning that everything looks in proportion. It's almost like Tru-Scale Ogres as it were. The only thing I don't like is the 'power fist' on Ogre #2. It looks out of place on the miniature.
What do you think?

Now that’s bloody cool.
It could be painted up as a prosthetic hand of a wounded veteran soldier.
Not quite following the design of the “shoulder mounted cannon”…looks…odd. Otherwise a fine pair of sculpts! 🙂
I think its a powerplant/exhaust for the bionic arm?
What a great pair of brutes, but I don’t like ogre#2 hand, what’s that about?
I love the overall look of hand sculpting over computer 3D sculpts, so this is good. Just wish the guns looked less blocky. Something about them in all the sci-fi models seem off.
Great sculpts. Just not a fan of ogres needing liposuction. I prefer the more lean variety.
THAT’S what I’m talking about.
This is what happens GW when you screw up. The market fixes it.
