September 6, 2020 by lloyd
We are soon going to be embarking on the Path Of Conquest with Para Bellum Wargames for Conquest: The Last Argument Of Kings. Before that, we wanted to know who are the factions we can play!
In this video we learn about the Dweghom, Hundred Kingdoms, Spires and Nords that make up the four armies in the game right now, a dive into their lore and also take a look at some of their wargaming miniatures too.
Path Of Conquest Bonus Sets
Para Bellum Wargames has put together a little incentive for new players diving into Conquest and wanting to join us here at OnTableTop as we strive along the Path Of Conquest. This takes the form of a bonus option for those who pick up the Two-Player Core Box Set for the game.

As well as the Core Set above you can also get involved right now and when buying it you'll also get a set of Steel Legion and Marksmen Clones which will help you grow your respective armies for free.
Path To Conquest Bundle // Para Bellum Wargames
This would be a great way to get started in the game right now and prepare all of the miniatures that you need in order to explore the world of Conquest with us here at OnTableTop and with a friend. If you can find a pal to split the box set with then you're ready to go!
Are you tempted to dive in and give this a go with either The Hundred Kingdoms or The Spires? Watch out for more Conquest content popping up over the coming weeks as we dive deeper into this game.
Are you going to be snapping up set, and if so what army are you going to play?
So on the topic of the planned slow grow league: is one core box enough for that or are additional units needed?
additional units, you don’t even need the core box
I was just wondering because my FLGS is having its last week starting tomorrow and last time I was there he still had one core set.
a single box will give you a small force of 500 ish points maybe. You’d need a fair bit more though for a full army
nice, handy wee lore catch up thanks guys. Love the pic of you lot too
Already got a jump on this from when @warzan first started talking about it. ( a couple of weekends ago now? ) Love having new videos to watch and use to get my wife motivated into working on her Spires, I took the Hundred Kingdoms. ( who am I kidding, I’ll probably be making them and painting them for her, and I’ll just be happy when she plays them crossed the table from me! ) Looking forward to working with the Army Builder APP at https://armybuilder.para-bellum.com/ COOL Artwork of the OTT Crew who are gearing up for CONQUEST! that’s some stunning looking figures love the giant with the tree.
I would love to see Warren it all… but the Hundred Kingdoms is a tough army to play vs. the spells of the Dweghom. If anyone can win, Gerry can ;D Spires for the win. Thats my prediction anyway lol. Should be a fun week.
I dont think I could paint anything so large. My eyesight isn’t good enough anymore for that
My eyesight is going a bit too but I’ve found it so much easier to paint larger scale minis.
Been playing a lot of 32 to 48mm scale games like Conquest and WWX for eg.
Less fiddly bits for sureeee
@torros :I have the same problem with deteriorating eyesight. Furthermore I was always fascinated at what @piers does with his 28mm figures.
I tried to cope with my problem by using magnifiers. I have one fixed to the table and one as goggles. It really does help. And what´s more, I can sse details on the mini I couldn´t see before and now I can paint these details as well. The minis look much better and I realized that piers paints details that I don´t even noticed. Now I do, and my work looks better.
Try to use magnifiers. You´ll be astounded.
Shattered humanity up against legions of Spacefaring Clone-Elves, Vikings on Roids and Dragon-Eating Murder Dwarves?
Definitely going for the Hunderdog Kingdoms!
Me and a mate are gearing up the Spires and Hundred Kingdoms (my army). Looking forward to following on with this slow grow, just the motivation I needed to paint a rank and flank army!!
I’ve got 1000 points of each faction but only finished one (which has swollen to 2000points of spires hahah).
This is perfect to get me in gear to finish and expand a second
So I have the Bundle on its way. I’m thinking of going Hundred Kingdoms. I’m just reading some of the lore now which I am finding really cool.
My 2 player set, with 2 bonus units is in the post. Just started playing with the army builder, and it doesn’t look like Pheromancers can take Marksmen Clones, and Cavalry Lords can’t take Steel Legion… or am I doing something wrong?
thats correct. It is a way they balance the game.
In the army list pdf it tells you what regiments characters can take.
For example for marksman clones you need a High Clone Executor.
My work around for this when I started playing was to do the list as if I had the executor, then just ignoring it on the list and playing anyway.
