### Start of shameless copy & paste ###
Read all of this before you start as it will save any trouble later.
First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.
You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.
If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.
A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.
Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.
Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)
And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv
### End of shameless copy & paste ###
Questions of the week:
- Will you attend virtual UKGE?
- Will you attend any virtual convention?
- When sitting on the ceramic throne do you let your mind wander, read a book, have smartphone with you or something else?
Excuse me while I get a coffee
August 21, 2020 at 6:01 am #1560575- I’m certainly trying.
- I was “at” GenCon and I’m still wondering how Spiel and GamesCom will end up
- A book. Take your time, take a dump, read a chapter or two.
Ah, yes the coffee!
August 21, 2020 at 6:58 am #1560576Morning
Hopefully I’ve got my painting mojo back. Need to have a bit of a tidy up then have a go at some 10mm Ottomans
Will I attend virtual UKGE. Nope,to be honest even seeing the stalls that were shown when its been covered on BoW there seemed nothing of interest for me
Would I attend a virtual con? I highly doubt it. It all just seems a bit pointless
August 21, 2020 at 7:18 am #1560577Another week, eh? They go by so fast…only two weeks until uni starts again…I am not exactly ready for that, but neither is my uni…which is terrifying…
Will you attend virtual UKGE?
No real need; I can see what I want in all the various articles of what’s new and such like.
Will you attend any virtual convention?
I don’t attend real life ones…not a fan of large crowds, to be honest…
When sitting on the ceramic throne do you let your mind wander, read a book, have smartphone with you or something else?
Yes.
Pledge this weekend is to finish Catelyn Stark, and then hopefully moving on to Tom Moore is he arrives next week. Catelyn shouldn’t take too much longer; here’s how she looks so far!
The lighting is god awful…pretend it isn’t. 😛
August 21, 2020 at 7:22 am #1560578August 21, 2020 at 6:40 pm #1560881This week’s pledge is to continue the Kingdom Death Monster and Aeon Trespass Nymph models.
- Will you attend virtual UKGE? – I’ll probably dip in and out over the weekend.
- Will you attend any virtual convention? – Possibly. I tend to not have the free time at weekends.
- When sitting on the ceramic throne do you let your mind wander, read a book, have smartphone with you or something else? – Smartphone
August 21, 2020 at 7:55 pm #1560893- Will you attend virtual UKGE? – I might poke my nose in when I remember to over the course of the weekend
- Will you attend any virtual convention? – no plans to attend anything specific
- When sitting on the ceramic throne do you let your mind wander, read a book, have smartphone with you or something else? A book?! How long do you spend in there?? A magazine article, maybe a page or two of a newspaper. If I remember, a pen to do a sudoku or something (minesweeper puzzles in the i newspaper are perfectly timed!) Sometimes, though, just a good hard think is perfect.
Pledge: My fantasy football terrain Kickstarter delivered today – already printing billboards and pitch-side hoardings; getting some of those painted up would be a good start. But I’ve also got a few cyberpunk NPCs to finish off for my own game – maybe I should pledge those and get something finished, instead of started!
Music: I used to play in a three-piece punk band. We covered this, much to the delight of every venue we played (all three of them)
I remember this fondly, every time I’m walking around the local store, searching for ten pence off Lenor.
August 21, 2020 at 10:37 pm #1560916My pledge:
Work on my BMG minis
Work on my Indomitus Necrons
As for the virtual stuff it really doesent appeal to me. It’s just a sucky reminder of how things have gone and the world has changed. But that’s just me
as for the toilet it’s phone/book or my Nintendo switch
and for your attention my completed Pungari Infantry for my Dropzone Shaltari, pictures taken with my new light box
August 22, 2020 at 1:05 am #1560922Catelyn is finished already, and I’m rather pleased with how she turned out. I love the colours and they did exactly what I’d hoped for in the general appearance. The project log should be up soon-ish…
Maybe I should pick a different backdrop after all… 😛
And have a catchy song, too:
August 22, 2020 at 10:19 am #1560943Maybe I should pick a different backdrop after all… ?
@crazyredcoat but at least it’s a background you can literally drop to XD
August 22, 2020 at 5:57 pm #1560990I DID get the pledge for last week done but now get around to a picture.
The week’s pledge, repair the resin figure I got from an eBay printer and dropped on the dining room table. Thanks to Greenstuff world I have 90×120 ovals that will be great for bigger stuff on tables and while I was working out size details and initial build for base materials the beautiful work dropped. I’m surprised by the manner in which the resin sheared along horizontal print lines and will be helpful to refit and pin with little adjustment.
I’ll keep at commission stuff, since I just turn around and use that money for other toys. I don’t think its likely that I’ll get off this hamster wheel.
No thanks for the virtual UKGE. I don’t see myself doing anything of the sort in future with any con/expo. I appreciate the elimination of subjecting myself to gamer funk but its not the same to not be able to oggle the new figures coming out, bs with random strangers or rush to different panels at breakneck speed through unmoving crowds.
When upon the Seat of Power I catch up a little on my MOBA as I lack the ability to get to pc/console gaming. I definitely let my brain wander as it is the best thing to have running most of the time. There are times though that its the best occasion to speak with family. If I were to read a book I dread the pain of my legs falling asleep and then having to get up.
August 22, 2020 at 6:12 pm #1560991August 22, 2020 at 6:38 pm #1560993Look on eBay and start searching for resin miniatures. Generally you’ll spot the same ones over and over. Those are likely the people licensed to print 3D files from designers. Artisans Guild has a few of them out there. I’ve worked with one guy near me who’s really been good when a print failed to cure and then gave me a great deal as an apology. Neckbeardia is a channel I follow that has given me both lulz and cringes for their content as its about gaming. They promote their shop and they have the same content as the guy I’ve worked with. For the European crowd they’d likely be the best option out there if you want to get high quality stuff and cut cost on shipping.
Here’s the channel; their ad normally features at the end of more recent videos
August 22, 2020 at 9:37 pm #1561012This is going to smash through its target when it goes live on Kickstarter – https://t.co/L4qU1a93M1
Even I want a set, and I haven't dabbled in actual, proper Warhammer for about 25 years. pic.twitter.com/EVuOWqrQ5Y

What black magic is this?
August 23, 2020 at 9:57 am #1561073That’s just someone who has been looking at his kids pup up books too long 😉 Looks nice but it’ll all come down to the cost again.
@horati0nosebl0wer ah, now I get it… me head just mispronounced it XD
