As this is a project based on a historical navy I did a ton of researching to understand what the color scheme was. I have been using photos of the USS Constitution as reference as well as referencing images from the Warlord Games collection.
When I started I had no idea how small the details were and how difficult it is to get at certain areas of the ship with even the tiniest of brushes.

I just did a little project painting up a couple of brigs for Black Seas, so I know exactly where you’re coming from about the difficulty in reaching areas. If I paint any more, I will definitely keep the masts and hulls separate for painting. Looking forward to seeing how you get on.
I agree, leaving the masts unglued and even the life boats would be the best option in the future.
