The Whisperers Are Coming To Mantic’s The Walking Dead Soon
August 10, 2020 by brennon
Mantic Games are showing off the previews for The Walking Dead: All Out War and Call To Arms that are coming this month. The Whisperers are wandering through post-apocalyptic streets to further their agenda.
The Whisperer Faction Set // Mantic Games
The Whisperers are a bunch of survivors from the darker side of the already quite dark The Walking Dead. They wear the skins of the undead in order to disguise themselves and not be noticed. With a penchant for brutality already baked into their aesthetic, you can probably work out just how terrible they are to those they meet.
As well as The Whisperers including both Alpha and Beta you've also got Lydia (right) in this set. Once again, I want to give a big thumbs up to Mantic Games for their sculpts here as they look brilliant. You can also pick up The Whisperer Faction Booster too.

So, if you're looking for a new brutal enemy for your survivors to come up against then these would certainly be a good option. They look like they would be pretty interesting to paint as well, working in plenty of dirt, grime and blood to make them feel all the more terrifying.
Mantic Games' The Walking Dead Anthology
As well as the new miniatures you can also pick up The Walking Dead: All Out War Anthology which contains a whole bunch of content from the original game plus Call To Arms and Here's Negan, Mantic's board game.

So, if you're looking for a book which offers up loads of additional content generated by Mantic games then this is the place to look. Hopefully, we'll get an update on exactly what's inside this book in the coming days. When we do, we'll make sure to come back and add to this story!
Are you going to be picking up these new miniatures or the anthology?

Man, I’m so excited for this release. I’m really curious to see how they will incorporate the Whisperer’s play style into the rules. I also love that they are giving them a minion booster instead of just having everyone be a named character.
I am curious about how many Whisperers will form an effective faction. It should indeed be a nice change of pace to have a kind of drone army.
Very nice.I’ve fallen a bit behind for AOW & CTA,so these are a wake-up call for my collection.
I stopped following walking dead as didn’t have the internet and friends were downloading episodes onto usb ticks for me so I haven’t come across these guys yet and have only read the first two omnibus editions of the comics but have to say these look pretty bad ass
They are a great new faction to the game I hated them in the show a good survival strategy that even grimes used to get away from the zombies.
I picked up a bunch of walking dead stuff but they’re some of the lower quality miniatures I’ve had for a while. Got really fed up with them.
With the recent Wave 6 stuff (Alexandria & Hilltop folks) Mantic switched over to all in-house resin production, so no more pre-assembled soft plastic. The good part is the detail is much crisper, the bad part is they are losing some casual (X-Wing, Star Wars Legion, etc.) players who banked on being able to just open the box and immediately start using the minis in games.
Thanks for the info. I’ve gotten to the point where I can’t stand bulk miniatures of lower quality. I’m not the best painter but opening a figure to then have to file half of it away due to bad molding is too frustrating.
Resin is always where I try to go wherever possible.
