July 30, 2020 by brennon
Last night, Fantasy Flight Games held their In-Flight Report which was a rundown of all of the new products they have coming up over the next few months and into 2021. You can check out the video below...
In-Flight Report // Fantasy Flight Games
You can check through the video to explore everything in more detail but I thought I would also painstakingly screenshot all of the offerings they revealed during the show so you can quickly skim through it.
Star Wars X-Wing Previews
TIE/RB Heavy // Star Wars - X-Wing
Nimbus Class V-Wing // Star Wars - X-Wing
Jango Fett's Slave 1 // Star Wars - X-Wing
Heralds Of Hope Expansion Pack // Star Wars - X-Wing
ETA-2 Actis // Star Wars - X-Wing
Droid Tri-Fighter // Star Wars - X-Wing
This gives us a good glimpse at what's coming for both the Clone Wars era and also the Age Of Rebellion with X-Wing. A lot of these options have come from the wider lore of Star Wars and come with a few moveable parts which are always cool right! As well as this, you've also got a look ahead to what's coming for...
Star Wars: Armada
Separatist Alliance Starter Fleet // Star Wars: Armada
Separatist Fighter Squadrons Expansion Pack // Star Wars: Armada
Galactic Republic Fleet Starter // Star Wars: Armada
Republic Fighter Squadrons Expansion Pack // Star Wars: Armada
Again, this gives you a great window into the wider world of Star Wars and brings a much-loved section of the lore to life as well. I love those big Republic ships and they are giving me flashbacks to the fantastic Clone Wars series. I can't wait to see what people do with the personalisation elements for their fleet.
Going from the sky to the ground, the team from Fantasy Flight Games also talked about a few new releases on the way for...
Star Wars: Legion
Anakin Skywalker // Star Wars: Legion
Darth Maul // Star Wars: Legion
Separatists Specialists // Star Wars: Legion
Republic Specialists // Star Wars: Legion
I really like the offerings we're getting for Star Wars: Legion. We sort of knew that we'd be getting Anakin and Darth Maul but it would be very cool to get some of the additional characters from the wider lore too. The Specialists are very neat too and give you ways to make very Droid or Clone Trooper heavy armies without the need for Jedi or Sith.
That more or less covers all of the miniatures options from Fantasy Flight Games and so now we have a rundown of what's coming for their...
Board, Card and Roleplaying Games
Innsmouth Conspiracy // Arkham Horror: The Card Game
War Of The Outer Gods // Arkham Horror: The Card Game
The Temptations Cycle // Legend Of The Five Rings: The Card Game
Legend Of The Five Rings RPG Expansions // Fantasy Flight Games
Marvel: Champions Hero Packs // Fantasy Flight Games
Marvel: Champions Galaxy's Most Wanted // Fantasy Flight Games
Keyforge - Dark Tidings // Fantasy Flight Games
X-Men Mutant Insurrection // Fantasy Flight Games
Twilight Imperium: Prophecy Of Kings Expansion // Fantasy Flight Games
Journeys In Middle Earth - Dwellers In Darkness Figure Pack // Fantasy Flight Games
Oh, and after all of that, there was also THIS teaser at the end for what's coming with the next edition of the fan-favourite, Descent: Legends Of The Dark. I would assume we're going to be getting a lot more details on this over the coming days.
Descent Legends Of The Dark Teaser // Fantasy Flight Games
So, that was quite a lot of images and a big video for you to watch. What from this collection of previews really caught your attention? Let me know in the comments down below...
I think personally I'm overjoyed to see more for Marvel: Champions and Star Wars: Legion!

At 28:25 they say “Middle earth is going to war” …. I’m going to say it: FFG does another miniature game like Legion and it will be Middle Earth 😉
https://youtu.be/10qOUFfWU4g?t=1705
I did hear that – I was thinking maybe it’s going to be a big rank and file game rather than skirmish game. I wonder what that means for GW?
This could mean that we have FFG doing the “Book” version of a tabletop miniatures game with GW doing the “film” version since that’s what the two companies have access too it seems.
Either that or we’re both wrong and it will be some “strategic card game” of sorts. I’m guessing that is one of the two “to be announced” streams. We’ll see.
I don’t know, I took it to just be an expansion cycle for Journeys in Middle Earth rather than a whole new game. It has a really strong reputation in the board game community so I could see them really investing into it’s long term (for FFG) future
FFG tried a rank and file miniature game with Runebound, based in their Terrinoth setting. They might have more success tying that game system to Middle Earth, and they have already dipped their toes into sculpting for Journeys in Middle Earth.
If it is a Middle Earth mini game, I’d love to see FFG try something on a different scale to really distinguish them from GW.
FFG had a rank and file miniature game, Rune Wars. It failed. However it was more like a boardgame then a traditional tabletop game.
It would be interesting to see if they where already ready and willing to jump back into a fantasy tabletop wargame.
The highlight of this for me is Maul’s face! Love the detailing on his scars.
They did do an amazing job on the Maul figure it seems
Maul is definitely a pick up when released
Ooh that’s a shed load of new model’s the ship’s are fabulous looking.
Darth Maul looks great. I had been hoping we might get a Trench model for the Separatists but nothing yet. He’d make a great general and be a great modelling opportunity.
Nice thing about Maul being an operative released opposite Anakin as a commander is that the next wave may be a lower cost pairing with ranks reversed.
So a less pricey Commander for separatists?
And Asoka as an operative ?
Kind of makes sense …
AT the very least the droids have a few additional figures that can act as a replacement for those meatbags in an all-droid army.
Yeah, Padawan Asoka seems ideal for an operative. Problem as I see it for the Republic army is that while they have lots of Jedi to use as future characters, they are nearly all generals so arguably should all be commanders!
On the other hand, if they are all 100 points plus then maybe that isn’t a big deal as you won’t get more than two into a list anyway. 😉
I think the bigger issue is that they’re all the same …
(at least at the gameplay level)
It might explain why they only added that one jedi Warzan wanted to cosplay as a tank pilot and not as an actual hero.
Huh. I hadn’t looked closely enough at the Saber tank! Kind of disappointed that we probably won’t see Plo Koon as a mini, he would have been cool.
But yes, there does feel like a limited design space to keep knocking out Jedi that are meaningfully different.
Nothing really for the Hp Lovecraft fans….. but if you love SW its alot…
Look forward to what is new with Descent. I want to see what is in that massive box. Many of the other items had already been leaked on other forums
I see that there is lot of awesome stuff coming from FFG.
Could be the push I need to get me into Armada!
Great stuff really like Maul, Anakin not so much. Somehow I find his pose and strange, yes I know he is using the Force but that hand looks strange.
I like the multiple choice of possess with these figures. The clone commander with the hologram is screaming to be painted as Cody getting his order 66
Darth Maul for legion is awesome!
Dear Fantasy Flight. Just re release the Friggen CLONE WARS Starter again please!!!!! That’s all we want!!!!!!
but they just did…. and even Asmodee Germany is sending out emails with “back in stock”
Some great stuff for Legion. I was hoping to get a hint at something Mandalorian themed. Maybe next year.
Well done FFG. If anyone ever wanted to see how to kill if any interest in a game just watch their X wing stream. Watch it if you dare
The Star Wars announcements are good, Armada in particular, my enthusiasm for playing these FFG games has though declined considerably over the years simply because of availability issues. And this has little to do with Covid. Not being able to get hold of units for 6-9 months when they are out of stock is just not the way to build up games.
Lovely to see Anakin and Maul turn up for Legion.
So glad that Darth Maul is an operative rather than a commander. Much better thematically and Separatists already have two pricey Commander options.
Not sure if I would have preferred Anakin in more of a Clone Wars series look like Obi Wan, but the movie version is obviously better known.
oh yeah, Maul with Dooku, and a shed load of droids. More Sith is better.
