Artel W Show Off A Monstrous Orc Iron Nookah!
July 29, 2020 by avernos
The awesome team at Artel W miniatures have just showcased the first of three new Nookah's for the Iron Horde Orcs. We previewed them a couple of months back in a work in progress render, but this is the first completed and fully detailed and you can really see the work that has gone into bringing them to life from the first glimpses.
Iron Nooka: Front // Artel W
There is some fantastic detailing worked into the model now, from the battle damage on the armour (and the running repairs) through to the ornamentation like cabling woven through the shoulder pad or glyph artwork on the gun and codpiece. It exudes the idea that orcs are brutal fighters but they still have something beyond just animal savagery with art and culture, even if that is used to reinforce how brutal they are.

Every millimetre of this model has exquisite detail, weld lines, dents, scratches, it's all there to help make this an easy paint job if you're just a fan of simple techniques but with a model like this you could really go to town on all of these little details.
By the way, did you notice that orcs use Phillips head screws? We're not sure on the size yet, I don't think it will be as large as the Boss, so maybe they would work well as mega-armoured nobz for 40K fans. Or as your Warboss if you want a fantastic looking miniature to make your force stand out on the tabletop.
Great Dakka Kid, Don't Get Cocky!
Before we go we really need to take the time to talk about his gunner. Judging the damage to the gun shield I have to assume that he does enough damage on the battlefield to make firing at him a viable option, but again it's the details, from the base plate that is riveted over and over to the top of the armour, to the fact he's standing on the shield as he fires.
It gives a terrific sense that it's been spun and fired at a rapid rate and giving him a seat would just encourage the little fella to sit on his laurels...or his ass.
I absolutely love the detail that Artel W puts into their miniatures. They're always gorgeous renders and happily as a company their production and casting matches the skill they put into the design. As their motto says "Awesome miniatures for awesome people!" Once again Artel have hit that mark for fans of the greenskins in space.
Foot on rock especially for Sundancer!

He’s got a bloody gunner on his neck! HE CAN PUT HIS FEET WHERE EVER!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
LMAO
If Artel W where clever gits they would make the rock modular so that one could put some bloody spazmarine under his boot…
That is one impressive looking Ork Warboss and that gunner looks good as well.
Ork hulk nice I like his back?up backup.
Looks amazing. My brother had Artel stuff arrive during the week, he was delighted with it. Packaging was brilliantly done and the cast quality was top notch.
So I was wondering how big this thing gets…. I looked it up: “Size: 57mm to the eyes; 104mm total Scale: 28mm (yeah, we know!)”
Holy shmokes!
