Venture Into 7TV Fantasy & Beware The Jabberwock My Son!

Based on the Jabberwock from the classic nonsense poem by Lewis Carroll, Crooked Dice have employed the skills of Andrew May to create something massive for use in 7TV Fantasy. See what you think of this fearsome wargaming beast!
Jabberwock // Crooked Dice
This is a seriously ace looking sculpt which manages to get over the slightly alien quality of the Jabberwock from its classic artwork. Much like the dragon we looked at earlier today from Raging Heroes, the miniature is posed so that it looks threatening, about to strike at something beneath its outstretched wings and reaching claws.

I think you could have a lot of fun painting this up for use in 7TV Fantasy and a myriad of other games. Many people choose to colour the Jabberwock in green but I think it would be fascinating to see it done in perhaps purples and blues as well. You could even do something crimson red if you fancy making it look super evil. I wonder how it would look if it was also painted up to match the old black and white art that you see online and in books?

If nothing else, you need to make sure that you get the right group of heroes to take it on. I like the idea of potentially springing this on a bunch of adventurers, or at least hinting at it through the use of nonsense verse and riddles as they try and work out what beast might be terrorising the local area. They then also have to take on the quest for the Vorpal Sword in order to defeat it!
Interestingly, Lewis Carroll never properly defined or talked about the word "Vorpal" but it seems to be an amalgamation of "verbal" and "gospel" which conjures up the idea of a holy blade of some sort. You could maybe tie it into one of the religions from your Fantasy world in that way.
What do you think of this version of the Jabberwock?

Imagine having neckpain with a neck that long… or a soar throat…
An interesting figure would be great as a demon I think.
That looks really nice.
Crikey. What a day for draconic fans. I definitely want one of these!
I guess they may have been inspired by my ‘Beware the Jabberwock, My Son!’ project that I’ve been working on for last seven months and documenting here in the projects’ section of Beasts of War… ? Congrats to BOW for providing the means to reach out and influence others in the industry… ???
