Brother Vinni Outfits Their Female Trooper Brigade
August 6, 2014 by brennon
Brother Vinni are locked and loaded and have kitted out their Female Brigade with a whole range of special weapons including a Flamethrower and Missile Launcher. They're all part of a new Trooper squad lead by a Sergeant too!
First up is the basic trooper set and I'm glad to report that they aren't all scantily clad women! These look like they would be awesome replacements for the standard male Imperial Troopers in games like Warhammer 40,000 and the Astra Militarum!
To add to them we have the aforementioned special weapons and the sergeant for the squad who comes with a sword and pistol as well. You can also buy the heads for these ladies separately therefore allowing you to make your own troopers from whatever kits you prefer.
Not a bad set from Brother Vinni!

Why yes – they are fully clothed, and even posed reasonably as military personnel rather than striking ludicrous ‘pin up’ stances.
Given their earlier sculpts, I thought that non-misogynistic female minis was against the religion over at Brother Vinni…
These are undeniably an immense improvement, both in terms of the company’s attitude toward women and as practical gaming peices.
Now let’s see if Brither Vinni can continue in this vein.
What’s ludicrous about pin-up stances on a toy soldier?
They were kinda weird / distasteful.
Er.. nope. If you look through the Brother Vinni back catalogue you will see plenty of female minis – some old, some new – that are well sculpted, clothed and respectful (Hilda being my favourite example). So what we here does not represent an upward trend from a newly reformed or admonished Vinni. It’s simply Brother Vinni doing what they always do.. sculpting whatever they are in the mood to sculpt.. or more accurately, whatever they are comissioned to sculpt.
Pretty neat sculpts; wish they’d gone with a more generic non-lasgun weapon, but since the target market is probably more towards 40k, I can understand.
Would have been happier with some helmet variants. Unless long hair can deflect shrapnel, looking at you spacewolves.
They look good. Nice work B.V.
I will buy these, just to reward them for cleaning up their act :-). Also, the women in our gaming group are going to need PC’s in our upcoming Traveler/Striker campaign.
About chuffing time. Take note Games Workshop and make some female Imperial Guard models!
