Introduction
After painting historical and fantasy miniatures for the past two years, I wanted to do something else. With the release of 9th edition, I started to look towards 40K. A game I haven’t played or painted miniatures for since 5th edition.
Don’t I still have a platoon of guardsman in my basement I once started to paint and never finished?
Yes, I do. 36 guardsmen in total.
And then there is this:
A second hand Griffon heavy mortar I once bought on a convention (also about 10 years ago) and then never did anything with it.
During this project I will finish all these miniatures.
Just when I found a good project for the spring clean challenge…
they stopped the challenge.
The Griffon
This is a vehicle I’ve always wanted because at the time, it seemed very good against horde armies like Orcs and Tyranids. GW stopped production of the Griffon heavy mortar many, many years ago. It even isn’t in the Astra Militarum codex anymore.
It could be used as a proxy for a Wyvern. The Griffon probably disappeared from the codex because the Wyvern took its place.
The leftovers
And they’re all painted! After 10 years I finessed them!
I want to return to this army to add new units sometime, but for now this project is at an end.
