Take Command Of Your Normans With Warlord Games
July 6, 2020 by brennon
Warlord Games has added three new sets of Dark Age miniatures into the mix for those building up forces for games like Hail Caesar. The flavour of the month is Normans who come both mounted and unmounted for use when preparing an invasion.
Norman Mounted Knights Command // Warlord Games
The first set is this selection of Norman Mounted Knights Command who are getting ready to take the fight to the Saxons in the South of England. Simple and effective, these could be a good option for the head of your force or instead just mixed in with bigger regiments. You've got what equates to a banner bearer or retainer, a champion and then finally the musician sounding his horn.
Not all warriors could afford chainmail however and this is where this set comes in. The Norman Unarmoured Cavalry Command would be good for those units which perhaps were deployed for skirmish duty and scouting ahead of the main force.

I could see these particular characters being good as outsiders and patrols. Perhaps if you were going to play something a bit different, a skirmish game for example, then these would be good as scouts who are looking to track the movements of Saxons!
Finally, we also have these on-foot options for building your Norman invasion force. This here is the Norman Unarmoured Infantry Command who could be a nice mixed in with a lot of the plastic ranges out there.

This is a neat little nudge back towards the Dark Ages from Warlord Games. Whilst a lot of folks have been wandering towards the Medieval period and a bit of Ancients, this is a good reminder that the Dark Ages is awesome and folks might want to consider picking up some new models for their armies!
Are you going to be snapping these Command figures up?

Those are some good looking Normans.
I like those, but not as much as I like the cheesy video they published for this release https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfMIUFigpB4&t=0s
LoL Sounded like Brian Blessed in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, cheesy as cheesy chips but nice minis
Nice they could be good for adding to rohirrim force’s.
