Mordheim Video Game Screens Reveal The Sisters Of Sigmar
July 24, 2014 by brennon
The Mordheim video game is in the works as some of you may know and a recently cache of images revealed more in-engine scuffling and the Sisters of Sigmar as a faction...
Hopefully, and I really do hope, this is going to be a perfect way for the specialist game to continue its life away from the tabletop. Games Workshop will never go back to the property so it's good to see it being handled by others in a hopefully faithful way. It looks like all the main warbands from the game are going to be there and they've promised injuries, interesting scenarios, multi-player and of course plenty of chances for advancement and wyrdstone!
Are you going to be keeping a close eye on this?

Its a shame they won’t revisit the tabletop game. I’d think the smaller scale skirmish game play would be perfect for people who want to play in the Warhammer world but not break the bank on tons of units.
Unfortunately if you don’t want to ‘break the bank’ then GW have cared less and less about you over the last 5-10 years. I love a lot of their old skirmish games but GW are focussed solely on the ‘big two’ now, what made them great as a company has gone in my opinion. 🙁
I’m sure I’m preaching to the converted but there are a few “fan-owned” Mordheim clones. Google “coreheim” if you haven’t already.
Yeah I play Coreheim. It doesn’t have the charm of the original but it’s what we’ve been using to play in the recent past. Witch Hunters were my bag 🙂
Yeah, completely agree. As a gateway to the larger battles system I think it’d be pretty amasing, as well as a fun game in its own right, it’s still supported quite extensively in an unofficial capacity and GW kits with all of their assorted bits means that it’s easy and ‘cheap’ to get a Mordheim crew going, if anything GW are missing out on an easy money spinner imo
Is this going to be a strategy RPG? I wonder if my PC will be able to run it.
From the spiel it’s meant to be pretty much as close to the tabletop game as possible – probably some form of grid or map movement with actions etc.
That looks, very, very, very cool indeed!
Phebrickid absolutely nailed it. You cannot physically buy enough plastic crack to satisfy GW. Take a look at their unbound packages for example. Want a Tau gunline, $732.00 please. Maybe we should get two? GW has no interest in you, your bottom line, or the integrity of their game system, and yes i will continue to play 40K – at this rate. What’s the poker term, my stake is committed, i.e. too much money invested not to play. Not only is Mordhiem and blood bowl never to be revisited, what is the likelyhood of one-off’s like Space Hulk or Dreadfleet,… Read more »
That’s weak.
After years of abuse by GW, our entire club turned over more than $45,000 USD in GW investments (not including assembly or painting) and moved on to greener pastures.
Roughly 20 folks, all at once. And the anti-GW sentiment is growing stronger, and spreading farther. I’ll wager you only recently figured out that GW is a horrible company run by horrible people. Give it time – before long your “stake” will be right through your own heart.
Take it from me, don’t wait. Your “stake” is what they are holding over your head.
Yup they are the devil themselves. Every time we are forced to buy something from them we lose a piece of our soul. I personally think that they will bring about the end of th……
Oh hang on, I’ve just realised I don’t give a sh*t.
Chill out thewargate! No-one is having a GW hate competition here about when they first started to dislike them.
Everyone has their own view on GW and lots of people still love the games and figures they put out, you don’t have the right to insult or criticise someone because they still enjoy GW games.
I loved Mordheim, I remember playing it in its white dwarf beta phase and I pre-ordered the box game on the back of that, it’s a good memory, walking into my local GW at the time and seeing a stack of Mordheim boxes. It’s a shame that they only have 3 games now, really. They didn’t need to shut down Specialist Games, just open up a seperate arm of the company and let it sink or swim on its own merits, swallow their pride and run kickstarters for each game once a year, how much do you think a Mordheim… Read more »
Seriously! They have some great IP on their shelves and do t really do anything with it. I would be all over a new Mordheim Kickstarter!
Battle nuns!! My dota team may have to confiscate this game from me….
Wonder if GW will take the PDF files (that used to be available for free download) for specialised games and make them print on demand …
Also if the Ltd Ed Space was the success they said it was what better for the next release than Mordheim? Couple of sprues from the current ranges, a rulebook and a bit of scenary – add in a £75 price tag and some classic “LIMITED EDITION” GW hype and Robert’s your aunts live in lover ….
Ltd Edition Space HULK you wazzark
I’m not gonna lie: as much as I avoid anything GW these days, if they released a self-contained Mordheim à la Space Hulk or Dread Fleet, I’d be ALL OVER that s**t
Or Battlefleet Gothic? Theres so much potential with these old GW games and they’re just not utilising them
