Warhammer 40K Necron & Space Marine Action Figures Coming Soon
May 29, 2020 by brennon
Games Workshop wasn't content with talking about a new edition of Warhammer 40,000 last weekend. They also talked about turning their wargaming miniatures into action figures from McFarlane Toys!
Buy Your Warhammer 40K Army @ Store.OnTableTop
The first of these to be shown off was this Necron Warrior who is painted up to match the new standard colour scheme for the army. He comes adorned in bronze with his Gauss Flayer at the ready. The box will also include a Canoptek Scarab which can be dropped into the mix, skittering around this warriors feet.
Each of the models from this collection is fully posable featuring (as the article says) 22-point Ultra Articulation. You'll also find a base for easy posing, detailed weapons, squad insignia, and an awesome Warhammer 40,000-themed window box.
Primaris Space Marine Action Figure; For The Emperor!
As well as the Necron Warrior, you'll also be able to pick up an Ultramarines Primaris Assault Intercessor.
Again, this model is fully posable and comes with both a Heavy Bolt Pistol and Chainsword so you can get stuck in and carve up your enemies. This particular model actually matches the character that you see in the cinematic trailer that they showed off last weekend.
Paint Your Own Primaris Space Marines Action Figure
As well as the pre-painted Ultramarine above, you'll also be able to buy Space Marine Primaris Intercessors who are unpainted so you can tailor them to fit your Chapter of choice.
They haven't said exactly when these action figures are going to be available but it shouldn't be too far down the line with the new edition firing up soon. I think these are rather cool and although they aren't something I'd buy, I could see them being a great present for someone who loves Warhammer 40,000.
I would imagine that we'll see a fair few people breaking out the airbrushes to paint these bigger action figures to suit their Chapter of choice. The question is, which Chapter would you choose and why?

The unpainted ones might be a fun project, I’m sure we will see lots of great versions spring up on release.
They look like they need a bit of shading.
I might get the unpainted one and piant it in my Primaris chapter, which I yet have to give a name and a colour.
I reckon that the future of W40K might well look more like this, both in terms of the miniatures and the scale (and for that matter the type of business and owner) than it does now. Possibly, not improbably.
Does anyone know the price tag on these babies?
The official McFarlane website links to Walmart and they are selling them for 24.99$.
Thanks
Not bad.
that certainly is a better price than the 18cm Bandai spacemarine (199 Euro)
Both are on pre-order for twenty bucks on McFarlane’s website right now.
Thanks. Seems reasonable.
Ooh nice I’ll be getting one? of them.
Unless the unpainted one comes apart it’s gonna be a hell of a job to paint. Nice idea though. I hope they do a Chaos one.
Just put it in vitruvian man pose to paint, it’s the lack or articulation or interiors which necessitates sub assemblies they are also 7″ tall so probably don’t have a brush big enough
So will they be sold at GW or Forgworld prices?
Doubt it, will be like funco pop spacemarine which sold for usual pop price range £10-15 assuming gw can get international distribution rights over who ever the local distributor for mcfarlane is
The Intercessor is a bit bland, especially when compared to the big lad from Bandai we got earlier this year with much better paint. But HOLY CRAP-OLY, that Necron! The glow, finish, battle damage, sculpt – THIS is what you’d expect in a 40K action figure. Now, there’s just one complaint I’d have, and it’s that this range is missing something…something big…with lots of rusty metal…and a big gun…and green skin…
I definitely want to paint one of these! Airbrush time.
The only time I wanted to collect Necrons, I’m saving up for the new 9th Edition Box set… How would everyone feel about implementing Bolt Action turn phases instead of the standard?
Yuck.
Oh wait…that’s just what I say to all GW 40K sculpts.
Ooh! New Necrons!
