How Good Is The RGG 360 Painting Handle?
May 21, 2020 by avernos
We take a look at the new 360 painting handle from Redgrass Games. Which is now on Kickstarter.
Gerry and John sit down to talk about the new painting handle that Redgrass Games are bringing to Kickstarter. Gerry gives us an in-depth look with an unboxing to the handle and a few extras. The guys then get chatting about what the handle does well and how they might overcome their own muscle memory to use it effectively.
What do you think of the painting handle?

Don’t think my bluetac and plastic shot glasses are going to replaced anytime soon.
As I’m painting mostly in batches that handle just would get expensive with all the extra caps I’d need. (Though if I had a 3D printer I’d simply print my own caps… or that thing in its entirety.) But I have to admit they (Redgrass) seem to have put a lot of thought into it.
Looks good will you be able to get this on the OTT store when it’s released guy’s?
Looks interesting…
I too use bluetac and old GW paint bottles but, after buying a few new packs of bluetac (2 diffrent companies), i found that the bluetac isn’t as good as the old stuff (minis fall off while painting or priming 🙁 ) and i’m slowly running out…
It depends on their putty, i’ll have to check it out
I use to use bluetac but found the same thing, I switched to museum putty and have had no problems at all. It can create a very strong bond though so it doesn’t take much.
good to know, thanks!
the putty they have supplied seems stiffer, if that makes sense. it holds very well. won’t know how long it will last for some time I suppose. Going to track down some of Chaoshead’s museum stuff if I can
Thanks @avernos , it does
I’ve been using white glue and superglue. Superglue is brittle enough that you can crack the miniature off, then scrape off the hardened glue.
When I read magnetic, I thought the caps could be used with magnetic bases that some army miniature gamers use for storage and transport. 😀
depending on how you magnetise your figures you could certainly do it, there is space on the lip and underneath the base. I tried that before but found high strength magnet to magnet would be required as the pull was not enough to stop the miniature actually being pushed and moved by the brush itself
I backed their last kickstarter and I really like them. Wasn’t cheap buying 5, but really enjoyable while painting. They feel good. makes for relaxed sessions. won’t use them when painting huge badges, buut since I paint models at 5 at most anyway, that’ll do for me. Not gonna replace them with the newer fancier version, though.
Backed the last KS, and i
ve now backed this one. I
m liking the look of this up graded version, and John and Jerrys little chat about having a rubber grip on the handle is a great idea and one i
ll be trying on the original ones.
