Warhammer Quest Heroes by thebelon

We start with some goodness from the retro past as we take a peek at some Warhammer Quest Heroes from thebelon. They have been tinkering away on this project for quite a while, bringing these classic miniatures to life and adding a dose of colour to a well-loved classic.

Warhammer Quest Heroes #2 by thebelon

A lot of work has gone into painting up these absolutely classic miniatures which are dripping in Oldhammer goodness. I really love the paint schemes that thebelon has gone for and the blocky highlighting and such that is used across the models is one that I can totally get onboard with. It matches the more stylised elements of the game boards and works really well on these older models where proportions are decidedly more "heroic".

Warhammer Quest Heroes #3 by thebelon

As I mentioned above, thebelon has been doing a lot of work on this project over the last year or so and as well as tackling a lot of the miniatures from the core box they have also been looking beyond that and adding in some new miniatures too. It is well worth diving in and checking out the rest of the range that thebelon has worked on and here is a nice glamour shot of the band of plucky heroes who are venturing into numberless dungeons!

Warhammer Quest Heroes #1 by thebelon

Who could say no to that awesome little Dawi with an axe which is as big as him!?! This is really making me want to dive in and start painting all of my own HeroQuest miniatures. Even thelaughingboy has been doing something similar recently and it is well worth checking out his project too!

D&D Hero by collins

Next up we're going to be diving into a little bit of hero building and painting! collins has a hero called Aldor in his D&D group and so decided to print out the neat Gorr The Barbarian we offered up as a free 3D print and use it as a representation of him on the tabletop.

Aldor #1 by collins

This particular miniature has been painted up very nicely indeed and matches the artwork for the character of Aldor which you can check out in the project above. I love the work on the slightly green skin and the amount of blending that has gone into the very awesome cloak and loincloth that he is rocking. That facial hair has also been given a lot of love and attention.

Aldor #2 by collins

This is a very fun little project and it is well worth going on over to check out the project in more detail as collins talks about 3D printing the Barbarian and then working on cleaning him up as well. Hopefully, we see collins do the same kind of thing for the rest of the D&D group and we'll have a full band of heroes making their way into more dungeons soon. A very charming little project which gets me excited for more D&D myself...when I can swing it!

Guild Ball Teams by dugthefug1644

Next, we're moving onto the work of dugthefug1664 who manages to paint more in a week than most people I know do in a month! He has recently been tinkering with some fascinating Guild Ball teams and tackling something which I've recently been tussling with, tartan!

Guild Ball Teams #1 by dugthefug1644

Here you can see how fantastically this has come out on the Brewer's Guild above. Honestly, when you look at the amount of detail that has gone into that, you get a real sense for how fiddly the work must have been. That is also on top of the awesome work on the rest of the models too which have been brought to life very nicely indeed. I also really like it when I see people crafting tabletop sports models with bases featuring the white lines. It's a little quirk but it makes a difference.

The same amount of effort has gone into painting up the excellent Mason's Guild too. Much like with the Brewers, they have been painted with nice clean schemes which make them instantly recognisable on the tabletop.

Guild Ball Teams #2 by dugthefug1644

Over on the project, dugthefug1644 has also been showing off some individual shots of each of the players so you can get a good look at how they look from different angles. This makes me want to crack out a Blood Bowl team and paint them up now!
