As I finally have a day or two off work, set up a little board to try some online Battlegroup…
How did it go?
In this world of Corona Virus and what other nasty bug to follow it up in years to come, this may become the norm.
By accident our group have started moving in this direct.
We are nearly finished our new gaming board. It consists of an expandable base board with plugs. On top of this you place 4″ hexes that can be double sided, such as on the first set we have desert on one side and winter snow terrain on the other. To save time we first design the board on hex paper and email copies to the players who the decide scenario and from which side of the table they will play from. The hex grid is numbered so it would be easy for them to direct deployment, movement, combat, etc.
On boards like yours, by the way it looks great, you could email a map of it that has grid refferances. Such as squad 1 moves and occupies B7, facing NW taking cover behind the wall running through B7.
You could easily use Skype to play the game to play a live game or you could use email for games like the old postal games so you can take it slow, for people that have that have to work, over several games. You could even post a turn by turn battle report here.
