This Project is Active
B@#$@$ @£=÷×- I've Finished.
I actually finished all the figures over a week ago but have been busy trying to finish other projects that not had time to update. But all the figures are done, and most of doors just got some tidying up on noise 3 doors to do.
Here are lastù few figures done.
And here is the full collection laid out.
In the Home Run.
And a Vrillmeister just waiting for base to be finished
And the end is nearly in sight.
On finishing Cargo hold pretty dived straight into the final ‘Not of this Earth’ box, helped by the fact a lot of the figures were bugs so mainly quick use of contrast paints.
Above was surprisingly easy, Wraithbone basecoat, then Skeleton Bone for body and tail, Blood Angels red for head contrast paints and arms , then a drybrush of Army Painter Skeleton bone, and an orange on head and arms. Green bits were a GW glaze.
Even easier , black Templar Contrast paint then a bery light white drybush.
And ‘We are High Priests of the Temple of Syrinx’
Couldn’t hey that Rush track out of my mind whilst painting them.
As to why the whole figure gave a mixture of Aliens mixed with the Demigorgon thing from Stranger Things.
Whoa! Another Milestone reached.
Well on Monday I hit above in finishing Reichbusters Cargo Hold box despite feeling I had slowed down.
Firstly more distorted Doggie’s this time red rather than green , why?
Whynot I’m sure @Warzan wil confirm they are historically accurate according to that bloke on You tube.
Solo play Scenario 2
Well ready for scenario 2
Couple of tips for solo play you need about 4 ft of table side to lay everything you need, as found in 1st scenario stuff gets mixed up, particularly the character action cards. Also punch out everything and stick it in trays, for use during game
So now ready advantage of layout length ways is to quote a certain movie (a no prize for guessing title) ‘ I get me some fighting room’.
Addendum post game
With punching out cards and layout didnt get started till 2, but had Red Hawk out with Scientist by 4.15 so good play time, specially as I initially cocked up the post alarm phase, and forgot the random hero activation and had to rerun it.
All got out though Quentin looks a bit sick. Missed one noise bit after Sarge mowed down a experiment, but on checking, nothing spawned would have reached team before we legged it.
And even more
Pace has slowed down , but have mades a dent in the cargo box figures, only 8 figures to do now, then can start on ‘Not of this Earth( bar the big guy).
I carried on with the mechanics block painted apart from apron which was done with Apothecary white contrast , then Army Painter Dark Tone wash.
I then cracked on with the Alt skulpt Guards , went for bodyguard SS look in black using Contrast Black Templar as thought they would be quicker but got carried away with white insignia so plan got lost in practice.
And here are a pile of items awaiting the base colours on bases dry before finishing.
You are meddling in forces beyond your Comprehension!
You may guess I watched Indiana Jones again yesterday.
Anyway pace has slowed a bit bit still beavering on and with todays entries , can actually see the light at end of tunnel.
Firstly another “hero’ joins the ranks , even looked at proper Maori tatoos and thought better of it.
And now this weeks main stars
Firstly the beastie from Not of this Earth.
And Now the Main event , Project X him/her self.
And now it Begins
Well I did it, I was ready for Sunday Afternoon to start.
Realised quickly should have set up table with character boards etc on longest side of table as was tapped for space. Plus trying to learn rules and run 4 heroes was shall we say ‘interesting ‘ only got 3 moves in as there was a lot of head scratching rule reading etc so broke off about 5.30 as head wass aching. But now re read rules now they make a bit of sense, and will try again later today
APPENDUM……
Well reran 1st scenario Well te reading rules worked , didn’t explore all the rooms but was nearly at end of move tracker so having got goodies, legged it. Took just over an hour dropped lucky with spawned baddies.
Now I’m beginning to get hang of it, will play 2nd scenario tomorrow. In mean time have nearly finished another hero and 4 armed zombie things from cargo hold expansion.
And now some light relief.
Both the Vrill Master, and the Scientists had a Wraithbone spray and despite being what I thought would be a pain to paint, found GW Apothecary White did a lot of the work.
With The Vrill.Meister the chair was mostly done with layers of GW contrast Gryph Charger Grey (also used on Zombie Armour to darken it)
This took me Sat Afternoon, with 2 heroes from expansion and the final Vriil Meister sitting on table partly done so what the hell.
More Heroes and a cast of thousands.
I my intention had to get all the base set painted by Easter Sunday Afternoon for a play through, so for some reason initially carried on with more heroes from the expansion!
This took me to Monday afternoon, so with 60 + figures to do needed a change of tack.
I went through the box and starting with what looked like the easiest began on the baddies ( from certain points of view)
The robot things were base sprayed Army Painter Plate metal, and most of rest overseer grey which I actually had before lockdown.
Black uniformed figures were done mainly with GW Black Templar contrast the Field Grey , was by Vallejo (have about 4 bottles)
After base colours were done they had a wash, initially I was using GW Agrax Earthshade but was going to run out and is nigh on impossible to get at moment so switched to Army painter dark tone with a bit of airbrush flow improver to stop it blotching( Thank John Lyons). Contrast greys were used on bases for speed . They were left at that may put more detail at some time in future.
Heroes Part 2, special figures and the 1st of the exrta figures.
With those done, and now I had figured out the right colours to use, went on to the next 4.
Heroes part one
As I wanted to try the game solo wise over Easter weekend decided to start with the core heroes and the two Kickstarter exclusives, the alt sculpt from the paint set and Sally.
Apologies for my photography.
