Face Red Skull In Upcoming Marvel: Champions Expansion

Fantasy Flight Games have dropped more details for their upcoming Marvel: Champions expansion. In The Rise Of Red Skull, you'll be taking on the role of Marvel's mightiest heroes and dealing with the nefarious schemes of Hydra, Red Skull and his villainous allies.

This set comes with two new heroes for you to play as. Hawkeye and Spider-Woman join the fray, characters who were only allies in the Starter Box for the game. Hawkeye rocks up with his bow and will be using his ranged abilities to take down minions and villains from afar. Meanwhile, Spider-Woman enjoys getting stuck in and using her wealth of abilities and skills to deal with the enemy up close.

New heroes means you'll need new villains to face and this expansion features five of them. Crossbones, Absorbing Man, Taskmaster, Zola, and Red Skull. Each of these villains presents you with a different challenge and they can be tackled on their own or as part of a campaign.

If you choose to play the campaign then you'll take on each of the villains in turn, defeating them and learning what your choices during gameplay have wrought in future games. You'll also earn bonus cards for your deck if you manage to do well! In addition to that, you can even play the game in an expert mode during your campaigns where damage persists between scenarios and there are harsh penalties for trying to rest and heal!

Because of the modular nature of Marvel: Champions, you'll no doubt find lots of ways to experiment with this set and have different heroes go up against FIVE new villains. This seems an exceptionally generous box and a great step in the right direction for the game.

Campaign play was something that folks were wanting from the start with Champions and it's good to see that it is being looked at in these big box expansions.
