Blood Angels Transport Choices

Darrell gets asked about what the best transport for blood angels is and if its better to take a stotmtost.... i mean stromraven or land raider.

drop pods on assualt squards with 2 melta gun all the way!

The problem with drop-pods on assault squads is that they can have JP’s for no pts difference and benefit from Descent of Angels when doing so and can move 12″ in subsequent turns. With Death Company their JP’s are prohibitively expensive to do this and that in turn makes the Drop-Pod more appealing. Overall Rhino’s are the best transport choice (although i’m a Jump-pack person personally) for most Blood Angels, Razorbacks giving you the firepower but as a combat oriented arm the small transport capacity lets it down. I’m a huge fan of the Stormraven. It dies quickly but usually after it’s in your opponent’s face and is ready to unload its cargo. Additionally, it’s cheaper and has more firepower than a Land Raider (at the cost of survivability, of course).
storm raven are awesome!!.
Against the eldar and dark eldar the lance special rule means that you may as well take the storm raven.

I run 9 Death co with a fist and 2 power weapons with a chaplain in raven at 1750 and they are brutal. Every game they wipe out whatever I point them at. Full speed first turn hope to fluke a bunch of 4+ covers and then charge 2nd turn while the raven opens up. Of course the raven regularly dies before i get the charge but as long as I am in their deployment I still get that charge. I tried with a rhino but could never get where i needed to be quick enough.
