PanzerKaput's Kings of War Spring Clean Challenge
Robert Lord Hungerford & Lord Molynes Regiment of Pike
As I go through my Kingdom of men Army for Kings of War I will catalogue each of the regiments. This regiment of from the centre and the pike block(s) are the backbone of my army. This is Robert Lord Hungerford & Lord Molynes Regiment of Pike, a real formation in the Roses of the Rose which I have, loosely based them on.
I did a basis block colour, wash and highlight on these as I have about 20 regiments to paint up and i want to have them finished to a reasonable standard. I started with a black primer and then painted the skin using Vallejo Game Colour Dwarf Skin.
So I started doing on the metalwork in Vallejo Model Colour Gunmetal Blue, my favourite armour colour and then a drybrush of VMC Natural Steel. I think this really works well together and give a lovely realistic feel to the armour and weapons.
I knew that the livery was going to be Red and Green as that is the colours in the standard so I first panted Vallejo Game Colour Foul Green and then painted VGC Gory Red as these colours work so well together.
After this the lining was painted using VMC Buff on some and VMC Deck Tan on others, the leather was painted using VMC Leather brown and then everything was washed using VGC Sepia Wash.
I then highlighted with the orginial colours again and bases.
Lovely work – even more impressive given how quickly you did it. I’d be still on the front row!
You are not the only one that is surprised by how quick I did it, lol, I am too
I bet they really pop on the table top. Some very Brite colors on this group.
Thanks there and I am hoping they do stand out
