The Perrys Fire French Cannons & Charge With Danish Cavalry

Perry Miniatures are continuing to dive into the world of Napoleonics with a few new releases to check out. We lead the way with a peek at their Napoleonic French who can now draw on two new pieces of artillery.
Taking the lead we have the Line Horse Artillery 4 Pounder which has been painted up here by Chris Adcock. As well as this hefty looking cannon you can also pick up an alternative 4 Pounder which is being manned by Line Horse Artillery In Kinski Coats.
There is something to be said for the pomp and ceremony that you get when it comes to Napoleonics. You'd never get bored of painting the same colours when it came to building and working on a Napoleonic force, especially if you started to bring in different regiments and supporting troops from allied nations too.
Danish-Norwegian Army
If you're not a fan of the French then the Perry Twins also had some options for those of you building up a Danish-Norwegian force instead. You can pick up the Mounted Colonels In Round Hats...
...and the Mounted Colonels In Shakos right now from their webstore as well. Much like everything from Perry Miniatures, the details are looking fantastic and these soldiers are in all manner of different poses to give you the feel of a living battlefield.
Much like with anything Historical, you do get the chance to do a lot of learning when you're building a force for different periods. You get to learn all about the battles they fought, the outfits and weapons they took with them and maybe even more about the history of the country itself. The Napoleonic period is one of turmoil where everyone in Europe was getting drawn into the conflict so there would certainly be a corner of it you could make your own.

Always been fascinated by the battle of Copenhagen ever since I read the Sharpe book, great scene where the Danish militia come charging out of the city to confront the attacking Brits but the redcoats had formed a killing ground. Rhythmic volleys of musketry pounding away at the Danish defenders…
