We're still powering on with the OnTableTop Weekender, albeit in a very different way and we will be endeavouring to entertain you over these next few weeks/months with plenty of tabletop goodness.
The focus of this weekend is to kick off the Spring Cleaning Hobby Challenge 2020 which has you delving into your collection and working on making new what was old!

Events Cancelled; A Call To Vendors & Content Creators
Considering that two big events have already been cancelled and UK Games Expo has been pushed back until August (more details here) we thought it would be a good idea to try and repurpose the Projects system.
We are now trying to work on a way for companies and creators to share their work and potentially gain some sales that they would have missed out on due to the cancellation of events.

We are looking to try and bring together what effectively works as a virtual convention where exhibitors and content creators can collaborate to share their new releases and fun content!
Indie Of The Week
In keeping with that spirit, we also wanted to share a smaller independent creator that Ben is very fond of. Here we have a peek at the range from Oathsworn Miniatures.
This company has built quite the amazing Burrows & Badgers range which also includes some sterling Terrain too. Also, if animals aren't your thing they also do a great selection of Sensible Shoes miniatures, female adventurers for skirmish and roleplaying games. We think you'll find something to love from their collection!

Looks like my RPG nights are screwed… thanks to Covid-19.
Two players can Skype in, but the third is computer illiterate.
Going to try Savage Worlds on sunday as we were working towards a break so that I could run Odyssey of the Dragonlords in 5e… don’t want to run D&D over skype with two players, so this could be our last game for a while.
If anyone knows any dice free RPG’s for Skype then please let me know.

Well is unlikely. The party are displaced from a post apocalyptic time (bit like the world we live in now, shortage of essentials like toilet rolls and food, but more monsters) into our modern world and they still react like they are fighting for survival. Last week they shot some rich civilians… in Chicago… they’re likely to shoot at police as they escape… and american police are notoriously tolerant of such things… it’s likely to end up in a TPK. @warzan Okay, so am I right in saying that all the previous Spring Clean Challenges are in the mix from last year using the Related Content link when creating our projects?
Are guys supposed to pick up their old ones or start new one?
Start new ones if they can – although by its very nature, if you didn’t complete something the first time around then it is effectively a Spring Clean too.
@brennon Just wanted to make sure we wouldn’t need to use a new related content as there are already around 40 wit a fair few from last year hehe and if you needed to separate them later it would make more work for you guys.

Love Ragnar, my favourite 40k character… but I dont need a giant Ork, a bunch of Nobz, and more Infiltrators… Its annoying that all the other new characters have been sold alone (apart from Blood of the Phoinex). Repeat the following:
Take a large glass
Frost the rim with castor sugar or oil
Add a slice lemon
Add a teaspoon of cloves
Remove the lemon and push the cloves into it
This is a health and safety warning ( your last)
Replace the lemon
Add a half glass of boiling water
Add a spoon full of honey
Top up the glass to the brim with boiling water
Drink
If you can read this then repeat
If not then go to a warm bed
Method of heating bed will not be specified
Kick this thing and come back better for it.

ohhh yeahh, the weekender all is well in the world..
Might be an idea to do a webform for any of the Demo games that were due to attend these cancelled shows so they can give some play the game at home or local club (if that’s allowed at the time) and then give us some nice shiney photos to inspire us all (and tempt us into making some purchases)?
After all they also are part of the wargaming show experience and have in the past driven me into making an impulse purchase and start a whole new scale/period 🙂

Yup I saw that, not sure about the £7.50 “tickets” tho (seems a bit large compared to running the costs of a normal show. Renting Halls, table/chairs and insurance). I’m sure there’s costs involved in trying this “virtual” convention, but £7.50 spent of a “ticket” means £7.50 not spent with a vendor. HOWEVER it’s early days yet and there might be more coming down the road to warrant it all (as it was only announced this weekend, and it’s all a rush), so it’s probably too early to pooh pooh the scheme. @warzan – I know you guys are doing it tough.
Could a web form be created so that those CoGs that want (and are able) to, can increase the amount they pay each month?
Certainly being this far away (NZ), I’d like to support you more but want to keep my physical purchases local to support the local economy.
It could be a temporary thing for some, so being able to reduce it back to a minimum of the current rate would be baked in.
I was thinking along the same lines, or perhaps something where we could maybe “gift” a month to those who might not have one. Giving more people access to the all the older backstage content if they stuck at home!
That could be an option on the form. BoW used to offer that but it was a manual process to change things in the background to up the billing amount.
I was hoping they could automate things. Some people might want to give a big one off donation, some a slightly bigger trickle. I was hoping for some flexibility for the customer.
Might be an idea for those gamers who might lose their jobs over the next few months while all this is going on. Problem is it’s hard to ask for such publicly, and people might not want to add details to a list here at BoW. Best thing might be to just keep an eye out locally with your local club/gaming group. And if anyone is having a hard time financially you could just “gift” them a month or two of backstage (you could point out all the tutorials behind the backstager pass might be useful for painting). It was an option to gift a Backstage Pass that BoW used to offer, that was all handled in the background. Subs may have been offered to people that had to drop off Backstage first and BoW would put out a message that they had Passes to gift if people would like them, just message one of the staff. Under the suggestion I’m making, a problem comes when the person that gifted the Pass drops the amount they pay, resulting in the gifted Pass disappearing on someone. I’ve never had the opportunity to participate in a Hobby Challenge, but with nothing but time on my hands this will be the perfect one to do. I have a couple armies for Batman Miniatures Game, Monsterpocalypse, Marvel Crisis Protocol that are in various stages of painting. Not to mention terrain and Kickstarter board games. I’m not sure where to begin.

Indeed the “Indie of the week” feature is probably my favourite news article that they’ve added to the weekender format. It’s so nice to see other companies getting some of the hobby headlines that are usually dominated by the “big boy” in the industry 🙂
