### Start of shameless copy & paste ###
Read all of this before you start as it will save any trouble later.
First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.
You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.
If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.
A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.
Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.
Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)
### End of shameless copy & paste ###
Questions of the week:
- Do you wash your hands?
- Did you intend to visit a show/concert/event in the next 4 weeks that has been cancelled?
- How long will your stock of unpainted minis last you if today was the last day anything would be delivered?
March 13, 2020 at 7:02 am #1496132My answers:
- Hell yeah…
- Nope. But there still may be some things impacting me like when my daughter will have to stay home if the schools get closed
- I’d say 3 – 6 months… but I think my paints will run out first. :S
well…. on with the show!
March 13, 2020 at 8:32 am #14961331. Always, and I’ve noticed an almost OCD level of handwashing in the last few years. No idea where that came from.
2. Was planning to go to the UK Games Expo, but who knows if it’ll still be on at this point.
3. 12 months easily, I’ve got several armies from several game systems sat doing nothing. If that’s not enough I’ve still got a mountain of mini heavy boardgames unpainted as well.
I think this weekend I’ll have to make a concerted effort to at least lift a paint brush, I’ve lapsed considerably lately.
March 13, 2020 at 10:23 am #14961791. I’ve never been more concious of how grubby and dirty everywhere is, in the UK. I’ve become “one of those people” with my little hand spray – every time I get off the train or bus, I give them a clean. I’m now fastidious about washing my hands before eating. Made me realise how little care I used to take!
2. I was hoping to get to UK Games Expo, but it’s looking unlikely: having elderly/frail relatives and neighbours means avoiding likely places of contamination – not so I don’t get it, but so they don’t.
3. At the rate I paint, my current supply of lead and plastic would still be unpainted in five years time. At the rate I print… well, my three litres of resin would give me a few hundred more I reckon so I guess I’d run out of paints before I run out of minis!
As for pledges: I took part in the Titan Forge competition to win a 3d printer last month. I was really pleased with the animatronics, but was placed second (the guy who won also added smoke and flame effect LEDs to his forge, but really made an amazing looking diorama and added a full story to his model – it was pretty good!). I promised a 3d printer to my brother-in-law if I won, so I’m busy making a cyberpunk diorama for this month’s competition. So I guess my pledge is to finish printing and building the pieces and hopefully get onto painting next week.
Still waiting for an @avernos video on making realistic brick walls (his rock painting was beautiful). Then going to walk around Brighton this weekend, to take some photos for inspiration for graffiti.
March 13, 2020 at 10:32 am #1496182This week’s pledge: to print and build the parts. And, of course, stuff them with all kinds of unnecessary tech. Mostly LEDs. I might shove a bluetooth controller in there it make it app-activated. I know how much @warzan loves app-based gaming 😉
March 13, 2020 at 10:47 am #1496189Well as long it’s only an audio visual aid he doesn’t mind… just make it go “boom” and “bang” and all shiny 😉
March 13, 2020 at 11:41 am #1496200I should keep my mouth shut. But hope to film something next week for it.
March 13, 2020 at 1:30 pm #14962251) Wash Hands! is it that time of the year!
2) Salute but have a bad feeling about it .
3) probably 3 years worth if I can find it all, I believe its only marginally smaller pile than @avernos pile ,though never seen it to compare. Do think still have GW figures to paint from originla 4ok release!
March 13, 2020 at 3:30 pm #1496301Do think still have GW figures to paint from originla 4ok release!
You mean “Rogue Trader” or really the first 40k?? 😉
March 13, 2020 at 3:42 pm #1496302Rogue trader , original Imperial Guard, one female figure is now commander of a Hammers Slammers combat car.
March 13, 2020 at 4:10 pm #1496315This week’s pledge is chapter 7 of Tainted Grail and the Skaven endless spells and gnawholes terrain pieces for Age of Sigmar.
- Do you wash your hands? – Yep. Counting to 20 seconds each time makes me realise how quickly (and ineffectually) I used to wash them.
- Did you intend to visit a show/concert/event in the next 4 weeks that has been cancelled? – My local club’s 40k tournament is likely to be postponed.
- How long will your stock of unpainted minis last you if today was the last day anything would be delivered? – 6-9 months I guess, but I could always start 3D printing more.
March 13, 2020 at 5:59 pm #1496325- I wash my hands a lot. I don’t mess with hand sanitizer, though. I care more about washing the filth off than the germs.
- Arcanis Con might be canceled in mid April. I hope my orders from TTCombat and GreenStuffWorld make it to the US before the shipping ban goes into effect.
- I have minis to last me for years.
This weekend I’m working on my Shaltari starter set for Dropzone Commander.
March 13, 2020 at 7:14 pm #14963591) Do you wash your hands?
Does a bear shit in the woods ?
Although I think some folks are going crazy by being too obsessive.
A little dirt doesn’t hurt … and being too clean can be as bad as being too filthy.
I also doubt that the kind of people that never bothered are going to change much, unless they get sick and we tell them “we told you so …”2) Did you intend to visit a show/concert/event in the next 4 weeks that has been cancelled?
We’ve been advised to work from home when possible and all events over 100 visitors have been cancelled for this month.
None of the events I’m planning to visit next month have been cancelled, but given that they need to plan ahead for this sort of thing I doubt they will continue. It sucks, because both Elfia and Zuiderspel are the only events of that size in the first half of the year.
– Elfia : https://elfia.com
At least there is a smaller version of this event in September, so not all is lost.
I would miss stocking up on mead …– Zuiderspel : http://www.zuiderspel.nl/en/zuiderspel-the-biggest-board-game-exposition-of-the-dutch-south/
This would be the first time they’d have wargames with the help of the team behind ‘Impact’ convention (they did a kickstarter last year).3) How long will your stock of unpainted minis last you if today was the last day anything would be delivered?
The problem would not be running out of unpainted minis.
Running out of glue, primer and paint would be a bigger issue …Got my copy of ‘Virtue Signal’ cardgame from kickstarter.
And I have done my share of weightlifting by carrying my copy of ‘Storming the gap’ from the pickup location to my house.
I hate it when they don’t tell you how big or heavy these things are …March 14, 2020 at 4:10 am #1496413> How long will your stock of unpainted minis last you if today was the last day anything would be delivered?
Scary part is that it’ll last longer than my remaining lifetime. Why am I buying more??? 😀
> Accompany your work with pictures
Okay, obligatory pic. (: I posted it in What are you painting now, but will replace it with another, since I’ve painted even MORE Hand of Glory accessories.
Hand of Glory figures from their previous KS. Figures use magnets to attach weapons and other accessories, including weapons, spell effects, and familiars. Background is from Loke Battlemat’s Dungeon books.

March 14, 2020 at 9:42 am #1496495Good morning you lot. I hope you all are still feeling well and have not resorted to any dystopian lifestyle. I for my part had very weird dreams (including @warzan telling me to not leave cookie crumbs on the car sear… please don’t ask) and feel very tired and exhausted. But this has been the case since yesterday when all schools where closed and we enter a state of “now shit hits the fan”
Stay safe and sane.
