The Guardians Of The Galaxy Hit Marvel Crisis Protocol Soon

Atomic Mass Games have been showing off the next set of packs for Marvel: Crisis Protocol and we're getting the chance to go off into space soon. The Guardians Of The Galaxy are on the way!

Starlord is leading the way, flying into the fighting with his rocket boots. This seems like it would be a perfect time to step away from the traditional scenarios we've been seeing people play as they battle it out on Earth and instead take things to alien planets and spaceships.
"I Am Groot!"
With that in mind, it's also time to meet up with two of Marvel's most well-loved characters, Rocket Racoon & Groot. Who wouldn't want them on their team?
Rocket is a rather fun little model and it's nice to see that the pack is designed around the duo in terms of the actual miniature and the scenic base that Rocket is rocking. As you'll see, Groot is in the midst of fighting alongside Rocket with this pack.
I love the idea that you could actually play around with a few diorama ideas with this set. If you were so inclined you could remove Rocket from the root and instead place a bunch of villains being pushed aside and smashed apart by Groot!
You could always just drop Rocket into the mix too as I reckon it could be even more fun with him firing his blaster at everything in sight.
Deadly Sisters
As well as Rocket, Groot and Starlord there is also a set which comes with the Daughters Of Thanos. Gamora & Nebula are also included as a pair.
This very much focuses on the idea of these ladies being a close combat fighting force and I would imagine that they, alongside the rest of the Guardians Of The Galaxy, would work very well as a group.
I do like the idea that you get all manner of different options in Crisis Protocol to make your own teams but there is something quite satisfying about playing with a team which exists within popular culture.
For this reason, I really hope we're going to see more of Spider-Man's pals popping up in the future. It would be nice to see the likes of Miles Morales for example and Black Cat making an appearance.
Oh, and Drax is coming later on down the line so don't worry!
What do you make of these new releases coming soon?
"What do you make of these new releases coming soon?"
strange that drax is coming later. my only issue with the figures is not the quality as they are beautiful but the price. I would have loved to have gotten in this game but price just makes it out of reach. there are more games with a better price threshold that give more gaming experience. I understand licensing can be high but still…seems really high for the expansion figures. the core set is great value. the expansion sets come to almost double the cost for figures. I may just have to get old heroclix to substitute…but then the cards……darn.
I think most people dont realize the big difference that you are only going to buy one of each character. This also set the price higher. I believe GW does the same with its characters costing $35 at the low end.
understood but star wars legion; the characters are very reasonable; about 15$ us or 17$ cad. for me…this is one of the reasons. I play.
same with. x wing. miniatures game…you can get a good sizeship for about 30$ while fighters are about 16$ …..and with the cards, you can really pick and choose the pilots and extras. again; a great deal in my opinion.
for other games such as blood and plunder;wild west exodus and malifaux just to name a few others
The character two packs come out to about $15 to $20 US per figure depending on rather or not you are able to find them on special or if you’re paying full retail. The single, larger figures are the more costly at $25-$35 US per figure depending (again) if they are on special or regular retail. My worry about the cost on the game is going to be the massive Thanos figure they are releasing in a few months. Not only is it going to be a big chunk of plastic, but they are including the new raid rules that… Read more »
Ooh they look brilliant.
Yep, will be gettimg those!!!
Man these are all fantastic. I want them all.
The Miles Morales Spider-Man was on display at Gen Con with Ghost-Spider (Spider-Gwen) as a 2-Pack. Their product number had them listed as CP10, so they should have been out before the recent Asgardian sets and the Vision/Winter Soldier set. For some reason they disappeared and Atomic Mass hasn’t said anything.
Interesting, I really would like to play a Spiderman and friends gang.
It might have something to do with the some more negotiating between Marvel and Sony over the films. In the film YouTube shows I follow, there is some speculation that Marvel and Sony are going to form a tighter relationship. If those have only appeared in the animated film “Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse” so far on the big screen. They may have appeared in animated TV shows, but otherwise, the general non-comic reading public only has had that one experience with those characters, so far. And they are pretty new to comics, unlike a lot of Marvel that dates from… Read more »
I would think that if the delay had something to do with talks between Sony and Marvel/Disney then we wouldn’t have gotten the Venom release. But who knows? They’ll hopefully be here sooner than later.
Awesome minis, I think I have to get them all.
