Unboxing – Labyrinth The Adventure Game | River Horse
February 21, 2020 by avernos
Today we unbox Labyrinth The Adventure Game to see if it holds a candle to the beloved movie.
Gerry is enraptured by this RPG book. It screams of the attention to detail and care put into it from cover to cover. For fans of the movie, the RPG is a labour of love from the folks at River Horse. For fans of roleplaying, it's an accessible foray into the world of tabletop RPGs but also something to celebrate the legacy of the movie.
What are your favourite memories of Labyrinth?

You would be disappointed if this was your first rpg as you would expect any future rpgs you bought to be as beautiful as this one
I do wonder about the slot where the dice go and if this would prone to tearing
The artwork for this is beautiful. Thinking it would be worth the buy for it alone. Plus this is cover to cover nostalgia!!
Torros and randomdiceofdoom i agree with you both this looks like a must buy for me.
Sometimes i have been asked what my favourite film is. Quite apart from the fact that i don’t have any inclination to choose a favourite, i found that Labyrinth did not come to mind because, quite simply, i did not think of Labyrinth as a film but as something unique and apart. I suspect if were to be asked what my favourite roleplaying or dungeon crawl is that Labyrinth would also, rightly, not come to mind. Labyrinth seems to occupy a genre of its own, and a subgenre of the Froud Henson fae.
When you open it up and I saw the dice cutout I assumed it was a ‘choose your own adventure’ book.
Not sure it has any replay value and I doubt it would work with my gaming group, but it does have nostalgia value. Not seen the movie in a very long time, but I think it was out at a similar time to Krull and Princess Bride.
looks an interesting fun game to play or just to have the book.
Classic movie.
